Great Lakes Dragaway October 5

Cloch and I are planning to head to Great Lakes Dragaway on Saturday, October 5th. Hopefully we will have some nice cool weather. There are no events scheduled for that weekend so hopefully the track will be pretty open. Who’s interested?

I should be able to make it. I get off work at 3

Sounds good. Not sure how late we will be there as we usually try to get there at open but weather permitting, I wouldn’t mind hanging around if we get a good crowd. Does Trexturk ever run his car?

what does trexturk even drive now? Thought he sold his B6 a while back and don’t know what he owns.

B8 S4

Blue B8 S4. Already done his typical bag and wheel setup. Car looks pretty sharp, but more of a show setup than anything else. I don’t think he’s done a tune or anything.

He drives this. Don’t think he would run it

bwahahaha that’s mental

Looking forward to this - hopefully we’ll have decent conditions.

Wish I could make it. It would be nice to meet everyone. I will be heading out to Byron later that month if anyone is interested, I’ll post a date later.

I have to get my work scheduled locked down but hopefully I will be making it as well.

Welcome to AR, dblearon. Great to have more chicago guys on here.

Current forecast for Saturday in Union Grove is partly cloudy with a high of 63 and a low of 35. Looks like we could get some great DAs.

Now the question is: Do I fill up with 100 or 93? Best results, so far, have been on 93 but that was with a new intake/wheel/tire/knowledge combo.

Going to try and get my buddy with his CTS-V to come out as well. I believe his most recent runs were around 11.8@120. Cloch, you should fill up on 100 and see if you can give him a run for his money.

^^ Ya I’m thinking race gas this time - all of my previous passes were on 93. Do you know of any places in the city that sell 100?

Would be great to run against the V, but 11.8 seems a bit unrealistic on my part. Hopefully that forecast holds up!

sorry to derail this thread, but do you have pictures of the coin holder delete?

With the cooler temps, he may have a hard time getting a good launch. I’m really eager to see what you run with 100.

Here’s a “list” of 100 octane in the area… not sure how accurate it is.

Thanks! I made the mistake of filling up my tank over the weekend. I’ll have to just drive somewhere this week to burn all of that before filling up with 100.

Regarding your situation, I can’t imagine that race gas would hurt performance in any way. If anything, it may just not add as much power as expected. Plus, you ran 93 on the day we had an amazing DA - I forget what the conditions were the first time when you were running 100.

I guess I’ll give it a shot and fill up a half tank of 100 on Friday. Drive to GLD should burn off a bit and leave me around 3/8ths a tank of 100. Hopefully that will be the perfect amount to get me a 12.5x.

Really wish I had program switching so I could take full advantage of the fuel. I should actually have some good logs this time now that I know what fields are useful on my car.
