I was glad to see Sepang and Daytona as standard colors for 15. Two of my favorites. If I had a job, I would have a hard time talking myself out of a 15 with one of those colors…
Strangely that’s because no enthusiasts buy the sporty coupe or GT… they all buy the 4 doors.
I was looking at the jhm s5 4.2 development thread on audizine and there are like no responses. In the B67 section the same equivalent thread is like 40 pages long!
Thought this was funny, one of the guys going to run with Hansel on Friday posted a shot of his car (he also made a thread about his times being lower than expectations). Anyways, I asked how the others did (assuming this included Hansel) and his response was
So either Hansel bailed, forgot his license or forget his helmet and wore shorts lol. Sounds pretty pro.
When I hit the strip with the RS5 a while back, I actually forgot (it was a looooong day at work - and hot too) and showed up in shorts… What did I do? Drove to the nearest store and bought some pants. (needed some tough work pants anyways).
I feel like I’ve gone to the strip in shorts before and it wasn’t an issue. Can’t recall for certain, but I know I’ve never actually though, “wear pants”. Granted it’s so hot & humid down here, I don’t even bother going when it’s mid summer. So maybe I’ve only gone when it was cold enough that I was wearing pants anyhow. Interesting.
Not trying to call anyone out for doing something dumb, I’ve done many similar things. Just not ran my mouth about being a drag racing pro running 10 second cars, F&F street racing for money and blah blah only to forget my license when it comes time back up all my shit talking.
The track down in NC that I went to is IHRA…you pull up, they ask “watching or racing”, you hand them the $20 to make some runs and they hand you a clipboard to sign as their “waiver”, they write numbers on your car, and you run what your brung…haha
They do make sure you have a helmet before you get through the staging lanes, but they could car less if all you wore was a banana hammock.
They also pay more attention the faster your car is obviously (cage rules, fire suit, etc.)
The shorts thing has never been a problem - the last couple of times I’ve been to Cayuga, it’s been early spring/late autumn and keeping warm has been an issue lol
I’m a chameleon. AZ is pure entertainment. In all of my original posts I want to talk about cars. But I can engage in reverse trolling when the thread goes sideways.
I have a good read on what normative behavior on this board is, and will act accordingly.
