so this is where the level headed commenters are! ;D

After Hansel’s car was re-flashed and it was demonstrated he was (maybe finally) on the right map, he never went back to the track to give it another go, instead, he just relied on the shop’s butt dyno, from someone whom probably does not drive a S4 all the time. It seems like heading to the track isn’t a big deal for him, given he went right away after the Revo 1+ tune, not sure why he just didn’t do that. Probably got caught up with his butt dyno too.

It seems Hansel just go too pissed off to think clearly, flamed the hell out of APR and Arin, and Arin just reflected some of that anger back. I thought Arin was doing a reasonable job trying to help, but he’s human, and though the last “hold your wheel straight” comment was funny as hell (I lol’d at work and got some funny looks), a company representative shouldn’t lower himself to that level in public. I’m sure they lost a few customers due to that. People get fired for stuff like that at bigger companies. This undoes some of the good will Arin was giving, just saying.

I was on that thread early, my first comment to him was make sure your on the right map. If it was me I would have re-done the program switching and then head to the drag strip to get some less subjective data points.

Who knows, his ECU could of been in some weird state due to his previous Stasis (revo?) tuning that the APR flashing process couldn’t undo, and his car really wasn’t getting the entire tune as expected, we’ll never know, but it seems more likely he was on an Audi or APR stock map. If he wasn’t so pissed off, maybe he would have accepted that as a possibility?

People put too much weight on the forum brands/representatives. That thread will never affect APR’s sales.

You’re right, it wont affect APR’s sales in any impactful way. They might just lose a few sales, its in the noise.

There were a few folks on the related threads and other random threads that have indicated they will steer clear of APR now, but it could just be talk and they might be people whom wouldn’t have bought any mods anyways. Some people seem easily swayed and don’t want to think for themselves, they might lose a few sales form these types.

If I had a dime for every time someone on AZ bitched about how their chevy truck or evo has better flash options I’d be a millionaire. It’s almost like on AZ there’s no way to have an actual discussion about facts, it always just devolves into the same stupid thread. People say “use the search function”, but it’s almost like AZ needs those threads to feed itself…the mods need to make a sticky so everyone can collectively bitch about the state of b8 tuning without restarting it constantly.

We’ll see if people finally shut up once they get their “flash to stock” capability with the AMS re-branded EPL tune. But with that product, I’m sure they’ll just bitch about the price.

The data gathering and interesting thing was his poor APR times and seeking an explanation to exhonerate APR (which Arin succesfully did by showing that Audi claimed they flashed him back to stock, and by showing that another likely scenario was he had the stock APR slot chosen when he hit the strip. He’s clealy dumb as a rock, so I wouldn’t be surprised if that was it), but he has abandoned the pursuit of understanding/diagnosing that and has instead decided to

a) sully APR’s name
b) defraud American Express
c) buy another tune

Let hansel die and wither away. Who gives a fuck about that douchebag at this point.

I don’t have my car yet but can’t stand the guys there on audizine. I already miss the e90 community from the early stages 2008 etc. Is this for real there?

I think you may be seeing some of that in the B8 S4 section too. The cars are $25,000 and up now, which makes them very accessible . With that being said, the B8 S4 section in the early days was FULL of morons, as are most of the platforms when the enthusiasts don’t know much about cars.

The B8 S4 section is really in the gutter now. It was pretty good for a while when the platform was new, but things started to go south a few years ago. Now it’s beyond redemption.

Fortunately, we have AR. 8)

As the cars become very cheap speaking of e90/92 the people become very strange :wink:

I remember when we had normal discussions in the early days as the tune for the platform were just starting; did a lot of alpha and beta testing with proper data collection etc. I remember being one of the first alpha testers for Terry Burger :slight_smile:

I am glad that i found this site, will post on the 2015 tune related issues if they come up.

no body changes on the 2015 only some add ons on the packages, picking it up this Wednesday
