You have addressed exhaust, cooling, fuelling, have great turbos etc. That car should be running 11.5 @ 122-125 on 93 octane at DA -800 with that modlist.

My bone stock ‘slow’ RS4 ran 12.7 in worse conditions than when you went 12.6. My friend Mistro’s ‘slow’ RS4 with just piggies and intake spacers (no tune, no nothing) went 12.4 @ 114 a week before you went 12.6 @ 115. What’s the point of quoting RS4 times? When we race PROPER stage III B5 S4s we get fucking annhillated. It is not even remotely close. We are not beating them by two car lengths to the 1/4 mile post.

You thinking that you are ‘middle of the pack’ running 12.6 @ 115 with a $10,000 modlist is a product of the B5 community being lobotomised by all of this focus on everything BUT getting faster. At 3700 rpm the meow tune is at between 4.5-5.25 deg of correction
At 3700 rpm the jhm tune is at between 2-4 deg of correction.

There there is the spike of the turbo on set.

From there at 4800 rpm the MEWO tune correciton factors at at. between 4.5-6
from there at 4800 rpm the JHM Tune on 91 the correction factors at 6.5-9.

Is someone saying that the JHM tune is dangerous? My stock B5 on stock turbos stock tune and 91 octane is seeing the same corrections as the JHM Tune even with the exhaust. When I put in better fuel I see corrections below what the MEOW tune is at.

I seriously don’t know why any company would want to make parts for these people. I hope people like me and zero tolerance make it worth it for them. I find it funny that a guy that has never tuned his car and a pack of guys that don’t tune for a living are telling a company that there tunes that have been performing for years what to do. Its a case of people on AZ not knowing as much as the people at JHM and the people on AZ thinking that they have it all figured out.

Only a fool would listen to the guys on AZ. If this keeps up your going to have china parts and no one to tune them. Did I see jfonz pop in after his tune blew a motor saying that Chris and Justin were wrong? Thats beyond laughable. I seriously think Im going to sell this pile of shit car.

Truth.

This is how you tune-

  1. You get a base setup for fuel, boost, timing, get the injectors scaled properly.
  2. You log for information, watching afr mostly.
  3. You adjust your map to get the target afr. (repeat steps 2-3 until the desired afr is set)
  4. You log for information.
  5. You adjust boost to a safe level. (repeat steps 4-5, and check to see if afr’s changed, might need to adjust those if you moved into a different load table)
  6. You log for information.
  7. You adjust timing, add a little bit slowly. (repeat steps 6-7 until it starts knocking and pull some timing back out)
  8. You log in various temperature conditions and load conditions to see if there are holes or gaps in the tune which need small corrections.

Done.

It might be easy to throw timing at an NA v8 motor, but its sure a different ball game when it comes to turbocharged cars. I know about tuning and how engines respond, I know how to use the information. If you don’t log and just go beat the piss out of a car, you are a moron. Your ecu is saving your ass, you should try tuning a car that doesn’t have as smart of an ecu, then you would realize the importance of logging and proper tuning. You don’t just change maps in the ECU and see what the car does at the track, you need to see how the car is responding, and you do that with data logging.

You think audi just throws some timing at a car and sees how it responds? NO, they spend hours and hours and hours and months upon months tuning these cars. If you had half a brain you would know that data logging is the best thing to come to the automotive industry since turbocharging.

Logging is an essential part of tuning, if you don’t think so, you are an idiot. /Discussion.

Guys for the record, this has all blown up in someone’s face (MEOW). For whatever reason, SnowTrooper believed MEOW and now Snow Trooper has acted like a maniac. I have sent him a PM and offered to call him from my home here in Toronto to clear this up because I like Snow Trooper…and I can’t fucking believe he has been hoodwinked by this MEOW loser.

Further, I can’t believe what MEOW did. When the truth all comes out (and make no mistake, it will) it will be vindication for Kurt and all his hard work that he does for guys IN HIS FREE TIME, and it will be a colossal embarrassment for a few people who have made a terrible rush to judgment.
