Hi All. Owner of the RS4 with the AMD S/C base kit checking in.

Was this Woody’s RS4?, if so I thought I saw him mention on QW that he has a 2.75" custom x pipe CB.

I’ve never seen that car with the interior out. Front seat looks to be in if you look closely at the video as he’s staging, you can see the headrest on the passenger side. Pretty damn impressive 1/4 mile time for a car designed and used for DE events.

huge black eye for EPL.

As predicted we all have congradulated the kit for a nice time. All the information hasn’t been represented yet. Sounds like some parts of the interior we removed who knows how many other weight reduction mods were done. This isn’t going to take away from the time it ran what it ran.

I think what the trolls miss is that when cars run a number everyone is here to congradulate the event. We have all done this…This dosent cover up the flops and huge laugh fest that has taken place to get here and there are still a long list of questions yet to be answered.

Your a whore

I think he goes by Woodi or something.

He has the AMD catless downpipes (which are 3" I believe) and a 2.75" catback, yes.

Very impressive. Context would help

  1. fuel
  2. weight reduction (last time out it had a BBK with LW rotors but they’re bigger so maybe a wash…and LW wheels with some heavy tires)

No matter what the answer, it’s another great example of the B7 RS4 being a fantastic platform. It’s a modern car that daily drives nicely with a nicely updated look, and can go out and act like an animal. Similar time to TTS/MRC in the UK, who did so with full interior. Wonder if anyone will push even further on pump fuel? Or if the RS4 will need race to get more out of it. I frankly don’t care about race fuel. Give me street tires and pump gas times please.

As for you never seeing the car with the interior out, that’s odd. You were at the track day where Jared rode in the car and said the car had the entire backseat out. You guys want to discuss that and then come back?

I don’t really need to compare notes, just telling you what I’ve seen. It always has two seats in the front as the owner is a driving instructor and always has people riding in the right seat, not sure about the rear. Not sure why he would remove the rear seat, there’s no cage, but it is possible. Every time I see it at the shop it has its interior. FWIW, I’ve never actually ridden in his car, we’re always on track at the same time in different cars.

Jason aka Frenchy

We were told 92 octane and “full weight car” by our local EPL tuner. Impressive run.

Car was running WA 92 oct. Seat backs are folded down in the back and the car is LOUD as literally anyone who has been near it on track, or on the dyno will attest to. Generally the car transports a large bin that only fits in the back seat area with the seat bottom removed. The car runs with seat backs down and seat bottom removed. Front brake kit is the AMD track upgrade package, it’s a 48 vane 380mm unit that’s 26.5 lbs (stock is 24lbs). 18 x 9.5 PF01 wheels with 275/35 Direzza Z1 - which ends up being very close to stock package.

This was my 2nd time doing 1/4 mile ever - the first time being with this car a short while ago. The car does not bog in 1st, I lift because I have done enough runs to know that it’s blown the tires off and I’m better off trying to regain traction and hope for traction in 2nd than just keep it spinning forever. I have tried every combination of launch rpm and basically haven’t dialed in slipping the clutch off the line enough to actually grip. I can easily launch without launch control but it’s the same result. My experimenting with tire pressure has consisted of basically finding the pressure that spins without wheel hop - as that has been my #1 concern and thing to avoid especially on the drag strip.

Honestly I just don’t see hooking it up without drag radials - we are experimenting with some traction control stuff that may help. As previously stated this is a DE car and is set up as one. It should be obvious to anyone really into 1/4 mile that this is a 10 second car.

I was just guessing originally (a couple of pages ago) because of the weird interior sound on the video. When jared confirmed the car has been without back seats in the past, that would make sense and explain the clangy audio.

Pulling the seats does very little anyway…if it’s just the backseats you’re saving maybe 75-90 lbs. That’s nice, but really it will just get you about 1 tenth at this level, and will really just get you made fun of on a 4.2 forum a la the flaming everyone gave APR for doing it 2 years ago.

Congrats! Nice ET and nicer trap… 60 is hurting the ET and with better should go very low 11’s…

Nice run. Sounds like maybe the cat back isn’t connected? I believe race cars pull off the cat back or pull back the catback. Putting the camera more forward I’d think should result in less noise not more. The car seems to be smoking all the way down the track that’s the only other thing that makes me think it wasn’t connected as well. Any time I’ve seen a header only car they seem to do that. That’s my best guess.

  1. don’t bother with the drag radials. Becomes a pointless exercise to show how great the kit is. Nobody drives around on drag radials, and nobody is buying the car to be a dragstrip star. The dragstrip is a way you, the tuner, can show us, the market, what it can do, at the de facto standard acceleration test. So putting drag radials on just to run a time is something you should leave for a customer who decides the RS4 is a good drag car. We (if I may speak as an RS4 owner) are just interested how it does in street form, in this context. i.e. street tires, street fuelling, street interior etc.

  2. you just said you have only ever been to the strip twice. Then you said you have enough runs that you know what you’re doing because you have so many runs. If you go to the strip in ice cold weather to enjoy -800 feet of density altitude, you’re going to spin the tires unless you lower tire pressure.

The night you ran this time, did you notice the B8 S4 that was there? He went 12.2 @ 113-114 with 1.78 60’ time. No launch control.

  1. What the hell goes in this bin???!!!

All around a great time and result for your kit. Good stuff.

I did see that b8 saki, very impressive what a dsg can do.

The RS5 with a blower and DSG will be incredible.

Anyone want to buy a b5 and b7? I’m v8 shopping.

Yeah, the DSG is retarded. Magic almost. On the launch though, they have to launch from like 1000 RPM idle basically on the B8 because the launch control (3000 RPM hold or thereabouts) is actually worse than running without it.

I mentioned on another thread that I can’t wait to see the TVS1740 on the APR RS5 they own. It went 12.4 stock and 12.2 with their tune alone. I reckon with tune and exhaust we will see an RS5 hitting 11.9 and with the supercharger…who knows.

Is Aviva going to make a kit with the 1900 for the RS5 or R8 4.2?

lol…

I believe they are working on a r8, and RS5 kit as well, but Jonathan/Jason could confirm that.

More fail

This seems to be the dissorder with amd people…an 11.36 isnt anything like a 10 second pass. People who actually go that fast know that. Ur 4 tenths of a second off a solid 10 second time…

Im mot saying that throwing more heat at the car and better driving cant get you more but lets hold the the reality train for you…

In case you missed it…great run awesome time…

lol I missed that. Actually it should be obvious that this is an 11.36 car. It might run better, but not till it runs better.

This is the disease that plagues killer00S4, an AMD fanboy. He claimed his car (before it blew the motor in two) was ‘obviously a 10 second car’, and he based this on the fact that he supposedly raced and beat a 9 second car on the highway. No video of course lol. Actually killer, your car was obviously a 12 second car because that’s the fastest it ran. I even started a thread on 6speedonline so his heroes over there could explain it to him. 19 people voted it was a 12 second car. 0 voted it was anything else.

The car runs what it runs. If it runs 10.99 at some point, that’ll be really cool.

I don’t get what mentioning that the car goes to the road course means. What’s the big deal with that? is that going to make the car accelerate slower? Does it have something done to it that makes it slower? Because it has 380 mm brake rotors? Because it has meaty 275 tires? It’s not like it has a 200 lbs roll cage and a giant wing lol.

shaving 4-5 tenths when your going from 11.3-4 to 10.9, isn’t the same as shaving half a second from 13.0 to 12.5. I think some people forget this, but maybe it is only guys that have only ran the 1/4 mile 2 times ever…
