Hi gents. Been following this forum and decided to join here rather than the other forums.
Jumping from a S3 manual to 2010 S4 DSG is quite a difference.

1st mod was the exhaust. It just didn’t do it for me. Got the vehicle at 11 am and was at the exhaust shop at 2 pm.
Fitted a Milltek Resonated exhaust. Cat’s are still in place.

Changed the Grill. The number plate holder is normally off.

Added the APR intake and played with some Plastidip.

Now it was time to test and do a power run. Flywheel kw. ( Milltek + APR intake only. )

Had it at the track to see what time it can do. Added NF Ultra ( Octane Booster ) with 35 ltr Shell 95 on my way to the Killarney. ( Our local track in Cape Town )

1st run, ran a 13.009 sec.
I deflated tyres for the next run and never got to improve on the time.
This is how it went down. Should have read a news paper on my way down the strip. Still used to stick shifting ;D

Joined up with the Audi boys at the track day and passed the keys to a friend to take it for some action. Never heard what it sounds like from outside the car. Sounds awesome ;D

Ran a modded M135i. Driver fell asleep at xmas tree. His best for the night was 13.4
Did a 12.8 sec. Would love to see what Software and Pulley can do :wink:

I’ve got a set of H&R Sport springs to give it more low. Waiting for Supercharger pulley, then I ‘ll fit the APR CPS and do software in the new year. Keen to go in the 11’ second bracket.

Plans for this month:
I’ve got all the Hardware, just needs to be fitted.

Fit the APR CPS system.
Fit the IBF Supercharger Pulley.
Fit the H&R Sport Springs.
Do Software.
Go kick my buds E92 M3’s butt, with Gopro footage ;D

Ran him 2 weeks ago and we where pretty dead even, until I hit speed limiter.

Cosmetic wise, looking at Rear diffuser. Just haven’t found something that looks good.
Any links, info would be great. Straight bolt on unit.

when you raced the M3 what speeds did you run from?

Is his car a manual?

What software are you getting? APR works well and they appear to have a good dealer presence there in SA. Is there GIAC access? They’re producing great results as well.

Not sure where you are in SA but APR IIRC are the only tuner for the B8 that does “hot and high” testing

I ran him when they were 3 up in the car. From launch till I hit limiter i was a ball hair ahead. At speed limiter he opened slowly and tapped off. We had rolling run from 100 kmh till top speed. Same thing. Level pegging and then he squeezed past. All in good fun.

Software wise, I’m going to be different and go for a local company thats had some great results on the platform. If that fails, I’ll go APR.

These figures are flywheel kw.
I’ll go back to the same Dyno when software is on. I’m more interested in how it puts the power down.

This is my daily drive as I have another toy that will run 4Rings around the S4 :slight_smile:

My other joy is an Old school 1990’s Opel Superboss. It was a limited run of a modified Opel Kadett E, 16 valve 2.0 ltr. Only 500 were built to compete in the local racing circuit. It’s running a Forged motor that handles 2.2 bar on a T61 hybrid Turbo.
Recently installed watermeth as a safety. Motor’s coupled to a F28 Gearbox with LSD. Car weighs 970 kg’s.

Raced a new GT3 about 2 months ago and beat him twice, from 100 - 220. I was all smiles :slight_smile:

Video clip is at 1.1 bar 100 - 200 kmh pull. Clutch died shortly after this, so did the gearbox 2 weeks later.

I Would like to get this going as my Track day car. Just need to get a Apexi Boost by Speed Controller and fit a speed sensor on the rear wheel. Biggest problem with fwd is the lack of traction and stopping power. It just doesn’t …
It’s currently at the shop for a BBK and suspension mods.

Have you guys got any info on improving launch technique ?
It a 2010, no LC.
I disable ESP for 6 + seconds. I left it in “D”. One foot on brake, ever so slightly. When lights drop I hoof it.
Took tire pressures to 2.6 bar in the front, 2.3 in the rear.

As for launching with the 10’s not having LC(proven not to do much anyway, even with GIAC DSG tune), hold the brake with your left foot and when ready to launch dump the brake and slam the gas all in one motion as fast as possible… That will net you the best short times, trust me… Also, if you are doing it at the strip leave on the 2nd to last yellow since there is a delay…
