Hit Englishtown tonight for some pump gas DSG runs...

Got out of work a little early and Tsivas happened to be off also so we decided to take a ride with my pops car to ETown for some runs… Luckily they stayed open last minute because of 25-30mph headwinds- I was literally flipping out after a 2 hour drive I needed to get a few runs in…

Ended up getting three runs in and they cut the night short around 8pm…

Despite the headwind killing me up top I was able to get two 12.0 runs in and one 12.2. The 12.2 I felt like I hit a wall with the wind, it was pretty wild…

DA: +475
Temp: 61 degrees

B8.5 S4 DSG GIAC Stage 2 93
Mods: AWE Catback, Roc Intake, APR CPS…

I’m 245lbs, ran on stock 19’s with everything in the car including the spare and tool set. Full street trim. Car had about 1/2 tank of Shell 93.

Car was 4212lbs with me in it.

Nice, Pete. Pretty impressive on pump.

How did you get such an accurate weight reading?

Thanks man!

Their is a scale at the end of the 1/4 mile right before the time slip booth at ETown.

What version of the giac tune is this car on

Ya no hotlapping, too much time between runs and the crazy wind were not so good for us.

Set tire pressure to 35F/34R

The only one they have for B8.5.

Pete, Good stuff… It’s amazing how much DA helps these cars and hot lapping for that matter… Like I mentioned in the other thread those 17’s helped also… freeride just ran the 11.96 with similar mods but had the DA of -700ish vs. the 186 that dragtimes shows you guys had for your 12.02 run…

http://www.dragtimes.com/da-density-altitude-calculator.php?temperature=51.8&rh=44&altset=29.60&elevation=178&track=32&month=4&day=23&year=2014&time=7:55 AM

The 12.02 I ran was with stock 19" peelers and contis. Wish we could have hot lapped and waited til DA was a little better. Wind was also a factor up top and probably why they cut night short for test and tune. Def felt it driving at 100+ mph.

Pete did the 12.08 after car was sitting for hr with engine cold to touch/hood open when we first got to track. We were literally first ones there at 5pm and they took their time getting started. He also did the 12.2 run.

We were planning on doing a few more runs but they shut us down early and we were disappointed given the amount of time we had to travel/deal with NY traffic.

That 1.70 60 ft run was pretty good for pump (with no lw rotors/lw wheels) and if we didn’t have those winds I think another pump stage 2 11 second run.

The track rental at atco next month should be better for the car. Just trying to get them to put on some lw rotors.

very fast. Headwind sucks. It’s demoralizing.

We had a strong headwind last weekend unfortunately. For comparison, I went 12.53@110.53 two weeks ago and 12.51@110.48 this week. The DA was +500 vs. -700 respectively. So basically the DA gains were offset by headwind. 1200 feet. Sucks.

You guys have any video?

Some cool cars last night. Def were beating almost everything from a dig in our group if we could line up against them. Lots of 2.0-2.3 60 fts all night lol.

Pete ran a supercharged vette on meth his first run. Crowd reaction next to me was “an Audi should not be beating a vette”. I just chuckled.

I ran a new 550 on my run (last run of night). We had pretty close rt and I shot out pretty quick vs him.

Dsg with lc is too much fun. Wish we had a cockpit camera aiming at us to see the faces we make from launch. I bet everyone makes the same face. It’s the face and instant tunnel vision.

2 stock e90 m3s were running. Guys hadn’t been at track before. Nothing impressive. 13.5-14s. They didn’t seem happy.

Fastest car with us was a Cts-v coupe. Guy was running 11.1 all night. Forgot his traps.

Superstar of night was ~76 year old man with 2012 E63 on slicks. He had a tune and rolled up with grandma in front seat.

Also did a nice tape job lol.

His best time was 11.4@125. He couldn’t launch the car. 60 fts were all over 2 secs. And his R/T who the hell knows… Might have been asleep on some runs.

It’s weird because our group/this site are all pretty good drivers who know what to do, but most people struggle their asses off at the drag strip, mostly out of doing silly things and not paying attention. We’re always seeing 13-14 second M3s and C63.

Mistro and I were cutting 1.7-1.8 60’ times all day with our manual transmission RS4s, and making good gear changes. We would obliterate ANY big power RWD car that would have showed up on street tires. They really don’t have a chance.

quattro + decent driving FTW

Yep agree 100%

we should make a dragstrip underachiever thread of videos of cars running crap times.

personally I could make a good thread of my botched runs. I must have botched 20 passes over the years where I completely miss a gear or forget to turn off ESP then my face goes through the windshield on the launch lol

We need to rent St Thomas.

We rented Atco May 12th. Come out.

come out in this situation for him means come out to the east coast of the united states…aka leave Canada, drive 12 hours, stay somewhere, make some passes, drive 12 hours home.

you could rent st thomas any week day. Easily. Just needs about 15 cars. Should be in the $1000-1200 range.

I think the first time he ran a 12.xx. The light turned green and he just chilled there for about 20 seconds until the dude yelled go!!!

Taking about the e63
