Hmmmm...

6 cylinder is the sweet spot for a sports car. If you go turbo V8 you might as well put an S class around the engine.

Sorry, but you are wrong. Flat six Porsche motors sound amazing.

The only reason to change it was to take advantage of a twin-scroll turbo, which needs equally spaced exhaust pulses. Just for the people that wanted to say “JDM YO” or make their STi sound like an EVO.

lol that sounds fucking terrible!

Huh? ::slight_smile:

Here’s a 991

You used a very generic term…Flat 6 and inline 6 have a great harmonic balance…V-6 on the other hand…Meh w/o FI.

They sound amazing on the race track.

One of the most beautiful sounds I’ve heard was a 997 GT2 @ Laguna Seca. Good god that car sounded awesome.

Any Porsche was built to sound dead sexy in my humble opinion…Why waste money to build a shit sounding super car…

GT3s sound filthy at high revs.

Jeebus. That’s not far off the B8.x 3.0T record and the car is supposedly completely stock with race gas. WTF.

Pretty impressive for sure. No B8 S4 has hit 120mph trap speed. It really indicates the BMW is putting out around 475hp stock, or at least quite bit more than the 425hp indicated.

I’ve seen a few 120mph passes. Myself included. In the 12s though ;D

What’s the price for a new M3 though?

Hey everyone, welcome back ‘El Romano’s friends’!

probably. Don’t forget though it’s probably 200+ lbs lighter than the S4.

I was thinking more than that like closer to 3-400.

At least 400lbs. A DSG is 3900 easily. The new M4 is coming in around 3458 lbs, per BMWs website.

wow I had no idea the new m3 was that quick that’s insane. that thing will be running 10s in no time.

American muscle doesn’t stand a chance anymore, even in a drag race.

Well I wouldn’t say that.

The new challenger and charger hellcats are 700hp for 65000. The new corvette Z06 is starting around a mid level m4 price, and the Ford Shelby whenever it is released you can be sure will be fast.

So I would say American muscle still dominates in a straight line for cars under 85000

I dunno. I am not a big fan of American cars, but you can p’bly get something that would eat that things lunch for the coin you would spend on a new M3/4. Hellcat is a beast and does 10.8 on street legal drag radials, plus you might even have some leftover to spend elsewhere. Ford is saying the 5.0 will do a 12.8 and yould still have about 30K to amp it up. That M4 is still might impressive.
