I’m aware, but I’m not weighing evidence and the basis for a trial or a conviction. I’m weighing what it looks like as an NHL fan, and it looks like he raped a girl, it’s a he-said she-said, and there’s no way to move forward with any hope of achieving a conviction.

To be honest, sportsmockery or whatever it is seems about the most biased ‘news’ source I’ve ever seen. Buffalo News broke a story that Kane had met with the police and the DA and sportsmockery downplayed it as ‘just a meeting…big deal’. Anything incriminating, sportsmockery acted like it never happened. It’s ironic they accused that reporter of being biased. Glass houses and all.

^^ oh i definitely agree this looks horrible for Kane. Especially coming on top of his criminal history. As I posted before, he’s an idiot. I wouldn’t be surprised if this is not his last run-in with the law. It’s unfortunate.

You just know that when the police make a statement about the investigation, they’re going to paint him as guilty. If they can’t get a conviction in a court of law, they’ll seek one in the media and sentance his character to death.

Hard to say - but I assume they’re already working with a PR firm to stem the damage. It’s a hard news story to overcome. Kobe did somewhat rehabilitate his image, but not entirely. In Kane’s case, he may not recover fully unless the allegations turn out to be bogus, and the Buffalo police lack the evidence to even suggest he committed a crime.

yeah, but the kobe girl was proven, in court, to be lying. And there were like 3 different guys’ sperm in her underwear when they were tested lol. This girl’s a rich girl from a ‘good’ family and her dad’s a lawyer I believe. Very different feel to it. Not saying rich kids are angels, not by any means. Just saying the Kobe thing, he was vindicated, although he was outed as a cheater.

Funny enough Kane’s girlfriend hasn’t said a lick during all of this. They’ve been together 3 years.

All I know is the cab driver story did it for me. If you and your dirtbag cousin paid your $14.85 cab fare with $15.00, and demanded change but he didn’t have $0.15 change for you, so you beat a 65 year old man up, you’re an asshole, and you’ll always be an asshole. End of.

also, let’s add up those who have deleted Kane from all promotional material…

  1. EA Sports - he was supposed to be on the cover. They took him off. This is a big deal. I met Jon Jones a few years back on a plane and he was paid $250,000 for the cover of the EA UFC game. I imagine it’s a multiple of that for NHL 2016

  2. the NHL - they’re currently organising pre-season promos for radio and TV and apparently Kane has been eliminated from all marketing imaging and video

  3. the Chicago Blackhawks - they have removed any trace of Kane from all marketing and promotional material

Ya it’s not looking good for him. Prosecutors almost always secure indictments from grand juries, so he’ll likely face a criminal trial. Not sure what the NHL rules are for something like this, but I can’t imagine Kane will be able to play this season with this cloud hanging overhead.

What happened to the settlement and the grand jury postponement?

It’s funny how biased that ‘blog’ is.

They quoted one guy who said ‘the. Absence of DNA could very well exonerate’ as their headline. Meanwhile…even though it was in the same article, it’s strange they didn’t use this quote :

Florina Altshiler, a Buffalo attorney who worked as a sex-crimes prosecutor.
"The absence of DNA and semen, in itself, does not prove that there was no rape,” said Altshiler. “It proves that there was no ejaculation, or possibly, that the perpetrator wore a condom.”

When you’re a sports star I imagine wearing condoms is high on your priority list. Plenty of girls hoping to have your baby for a payoff.

Kane’s DNA was found beneath the woman’s fingernails and on her shoulders, according to two of the sources, one of them a member of law enforcement.

Pretty funny the slanted headlines. If you skim headlines on that site you’d think Patrick Kane baked her a cake. If you read you realise he likely raped her.

Ya the articles out there are all over the place. That DNA can also be present during casual contact.

Just hope this circus is over soon. Still no charges… He is at camp. We will probably never know the truth.

Can’t wait for hockey to start again.

Excited to see the new guys Panarin, Dano, Tikhonov. They also invited Paille (ex Bruin) to camp for tryout.

No idea about the settlement, but if I had to speculate, it would be something with money. Perhaps her initial demand was too high, and Kane’s attorney thought it wasn’t reasonable given the available evidence or lack thereof.

I believe this is the most likely scenario if the trial never gets underway. Btw settlement talks after a prosecutor decides to seek an indictment strikes me as odd. If you believe you have the evidence, why stall the process? This isn’t some civil matter where courts encourage settlement. Strange.

This newspaper has confirmed that DNA tests conducted on the 21-year-old woman who has accused hockey star Patrick Kane of raping her has found DNA evidence of at least one person and possibly one or two more in her genital area but no traces of any DNA from Kane.

As the Buffalo News first reported on Sunday, the lack of any DNA evidence from Kane does not support the claims of the former UB cheerleader that Kane raped her on the morning of Aug. 2 at his lakefront home in Hamburg although the investigation is continuing.

This news comes shortly after finding out that Kane’s semen was not part of the rape kit at all.

What’s the theory everyone is working on here…that his cousin raped her? And by everyone, I mean the Chicago sports media lol.

I’m not sure, but I’m pretty sure the Niagara Falls Reporter is below Sportsmockery.com on the media totem pole.

Any legit news agencies reporting any of these rumours? The only articles on legit agencies I can see are telling me that Kane is removed from all marketing by all major corporations. Those corporations and sponsors all have their own Ray Donovan who knows what really happened, so that’s why they’ve made those decisions. Not because Patrick Kane’s cousin raped someone…or because some broad lied to her dad. Did Nike or anyone dump Kobe? Nope, because he was innocent, and their Ray Donovan found the real story. Did Tiger Woods’ sponsors stick it out? Nope, because they had the scoop that he was dead to nuts busted. Other than Nike, who admitted he fucked up but stuck with him anyway.

They have limited talent, limited leadership and the goalie isn’t that great.

However they have great coaches, great management and a burgeoning pool of prospects.

This all point to them being shit but disciplined. They will likely over achieve, however that is like being tallest midget. They’re expected to be bottom 8.

And none of that matters.

The air Canada centre will sell out every night.

Leafs fans will outnumber most fans in visitor buildings.

Ratings for games will far outstrip any other team in the league.

TML will make 250 million dollars in profits, more than the rest of the teams combined.

I will watch every single game.

Hockey is different here.
