I’ve been wanting to do a K&N for a while. I will have to do it on my next check. I’m waiting for a day off to get my oil changed. maybe I’ll stop by that shop around the corner and see what he can do for me. He’s gotta have a VAG-COM. Sounds like catback opens some power too. I can’t wait for coilovers, the suspension seems soft. its almost like the Cadillac float but not so bad. I feel a little more solid suspension would stiffen up the body roll and float problem. probably help with some acceleration too. I’m gonna do the ECU and TCU before the coils though, they sound much more fun. And by the time I’m done, I’ll need some suspension I live in Boise, ID and the best thing about this place car wise are the roads you can drive. there’s the coveted Bogus Basin Road that popular for drift and rally… although the only dirt they go through is a parking lot to the next road… theres some good youtube videos. Point being is there’s not much here track wise for cars. So roads are the best we’ve got. Anyway, check out bogus basin. I’ll see if I can find some links to post
I wasnt suggesting using the g4 kit. Use the m90 on the g3 kit in place of the m62. You can get an m90 on ebay for $300. And I highly doubt you’d need a different hood, it fits under other B6 hoods fine. And the g4 kit is only $6500 fwiw.
Ok show me a PIC of the G4 M90 You are refering to.
This is the smaller/lower G4 that is $5.-$9.k.

Larger but 2.7 V6 M90.

New hood needed?
a4avantguy,
If Your not planning on raising and lowering the car go with Sport H&R ride springs and sport Bilstein shocks.
I have that setup and I love the way the car handles now. Just wish the wheel gap was smaller.
I’ll give You part numbers if You want?
http://i1108.photobucket.com/albums/h411/halo549b/731351cf.jpg
Wheels and tires might change that some.
What I was suggesting, G3 intake manifold, M90 blower. Youd need someone to weld a bigger plate on the g3 intake manifold to match the bolt pattern of the M90.
The second picture is using an rs4 intake manifold, if they mounted it to the bottom and blew up instead of a top mount blow down it would fit fine.
This looks to be mounted to blow up.

Whats the air displacement of the G4 M90?
Couldn’t find any numbers last time I looked.
Could find lots of Tubers saying the same thing about PES and the Audi they put them in.
Ah Youtube the place for shit heads with a camera !
I thought about lowering springs but I also like the idea of damper adjustability and ride height. I got into autocross with my old car and was planning to do some this season but unfortunately I had something come up and now I am paying for that and not track time. I figure with coils I have more options for tuning my suspension for my driving style and racing rather than one setting for everything. I wish I had the money to do everything I want at once but I don’t so I’ll just build it one piece at a time.
Halo, once your ride gets some wheels and tires it’ll look sick. And are your stock wheels 16’s or 17’s? I got a spec sheet from mine when I bought it and it said 17’s but I was checkin my tire size and I’m running 16’s… I wouldn’t mind running some other stock wheels if there was a way to make them bigger and put them on a diet. I like 6 spokes on the Avant. looks sharper. Anyway point being what size wheel are you looking to run? I’m guessing 18’s or 19’s because that’s what seems to fit these cars well. I don’t see you running with 20’s or bigger unless you plan on doing VIP. I don’t, but if I keep my wagon long enough I might. I did think about doing some bags on it for a hellaflush but that would make my 3g0 a 3sl0w and I’d rather not. I mean, I could just run a stiff go-kart like suspension and hope there isn’t any sticks in the road! I don’t know how kids do that. My car would be at the body shop everyday if I drove around flushed out… I’m done ranting.
Wow, good thing I came and looked at this. replying on my iphone just isn’t as good as my laptop. While I was writing this I couldn’t figure out how to spell ‘heighth.’ It aggravated me to the point of googling it. I have now learned that ‘heighth’ is not an actual word. Funny story I thought I would share.
The wheels are 17x7.5. Stock A4 wheels. Tires are 235 45 R17 W rated.
I want to get 18x8 or 18x8.5 35et or 45et but not sure if they’ll touch when I hit bumps or how close they will actualy be to the fender.
I doubt you’ll rub on 18", I’m 19" with a 235 tire on 02 sport suspension and I don’t rub and I can’t imagine your that much lower than me. I bet you could even run 19" as long as you didn’t go any bigger than a 235.
A43Go6MT What offset are Your 19’s? And what width rim/tire?
Get the phone app called “Garage Buddy” its by Turtle Rock Studios 2010.
It has a tire/wheel size calculator.
So 235 45 R17 are Sidewall = 4.16in, Diameter = 25.33in, Width = 9.25in. Rim width should be 8.0-9.5in.
I have 19" BBS CH’s which I believe are 35 offset, and 8.5" width, the tire is 235/35/19, Thanks I’ll check out that app.
235/35/19 is Sidewall = 3.24in, Diameter = 25.48, Tire width = 9.25, Rim should be 8.0-9.5in.
So Your tire is only .15 larger in diameter larger and the same width tread.
I beleive the stock wheels are a 35et also.
So Your 19 is almost the same as my 17.
Just a smaller sidewall.
Drop a PIC so I can see how close Yours are?
Dude that looks baller. Damn. this looks so clean. I see why its worthwhile to pay for the BBS.
Curious, is there a DIY to go from floor tip to paddle shifters?
A43Go6MT, Is that the Ultrasport package or did You change the suspension?
I’ve been looking at tires in that size.
Holy crap! Tires in that size are $1000.-$1200 for what I want.
Thanks A4Avant. BBS’s are defintily worth it. Theres a set of CH’s on AZ for 800$ but I think they are 18".
Halo- Yes that is Ultra Sport package, that I added. See my build thread earlier pages. Tires are over a 1000 for 19" but If you hang on to your stock wheels and put some winter tires on them, rotate your tires often and keep it aligned, and don’t corner hard on the low pro’s. Depending on the tire brand you run you should be able to last a couple summers.
I’m running the toyo proxes 4’s and they are loud, i think i’m going to try out the Pirelli Nero’s they are only 950 a set of 4 on tirerack. Even if your spending 1000+ on tires and they last 2 summers that still isn’t that bad. it just takes a good chunk to get everything setup to have 2 sets of wheels. Its much cheaper and better performance to run 2 different sets, and its hard on tires to be taking them on and off the wheel for each season. And you know what they say all season=no season. Which is why I’ve beent trying to break away from them but I bought the toyo’s used for 400$ with 90% tread so I couldn’t pass them up.
Someone should pick up these babies…

A local audi guy in my area has some OZ Superleggeras that he’s selling pretty cheap I could connect someone with if they are interested that are 19" I think he wants like 7 or 800 for them with tires. They are Silver i think.
I have Yokohama Avid Envigors that cost me $870. almost 2 years ago.
There the only tires I have had on the car. No swaping winter setups.
Thats the longest that tires have ever lasted me.
There $920. now at MrTire.
I might have to go cheap and get the #2 tires on the market.
Continental DWS’s wich will cost me about $650. for 4.
I may get new wheels and tires in Feb so the DWS’s will be my winter setup.
DWS are actually a great tire, I’d say most bang for buck of any tire I’ve ever owned. They out perform a LOT of tires that cost more.
