With the new bomb shell that the S5 is getting headers developed. I would love to hear from anyone that has the JHM headers or can offer feedback on them.
They’re sitting on my living room floor. I keep gawking at them as they look phenomenal, and getting to hear about the design/engineering process for them amazes me (i.e. what it took to make them true equal length and still fit, as well as the importance in quality of welds, different bends, and the importance to have a “shotgun firing order” into the merge collector rather then just at random, etc etc.), but beyond that, I can’t offer too much first hand experience.
I’ve got a set on my A6 4.2. Had them since October and kind of forget how awesome they are. They are built for low end (smaller, longer primaries) so the top end gains aren’t huge unless you are spraying and slightly less so with the blower (the nitrous really needs headers since there is a lot of extra gas from the extra power, but there is no boost pushing it out). But the feel with the headers is so brutal, it really makes the car feel like a V8 finally. Once I hit 2700rpm the whole front end lifts up and my car just starts running away.
And don’t forget that sound, exotic and unique cruising around and absolutely brutal WOT

There are lots of guys that have headers but I think Beemercer is a great example of them on a non S model. They show great on the S4 but its great to see how they effect the A6 line.
If done right headers will definitely add a good amount of tq and hp. Its a shame because you see more headers done just as a few pipes that collect in one area then actual headers with proper length and size.

How many non-forum members has JHM sold headers too. I know that sounds kinda wrong, but I gotta imagine they’ve cranked out a lot more then just that? I know there are some decently built JHM cars out there from guys that are rarely if ever on the forum, would be interesting to gauge the difference.

hell there are a couple of guys who ordered turbo cars but never go on forums
x2 on both those points, lots of lurkers around who drop quite a bit of money but you never hear about them
I have headers and they were worth every penny. Its a night and day difference in TQ and over all performance.

I actually went in a ride last week, in a JHM tuned header car. VERY impressive.

headers on an s5? lucky bastid, you will love them. ill never forget the day i drove my car home after getting them installed and being right up an e92 m3’s ass. the violent torque delivery and sound are wonderful.
plus a lot of people bitch that headers plus install cost alot but its better than the MB guys which pay upwards of 5k for a set that are not even 321 stainless like ours!
