I haven't seen a company fight the 1/4 mile this hard in a while

Again without knowing what specific set of rules that particular track follows it’s pointless to guess. They can make the rules how ever they see fit FWIW.

As far as tuning, apparently he tuned it along with “some other people” whatever that means. But looks like it’s running strong. It is too bad that he wasn’t able to get a slip for something more official though. I suppose you could say it’s vaporware, but I’d say it’s certainly not unbelievable.

They are almost all either IHRA or NHRA certified, and follow the pertinent rules. He is in Atlanta…went to South Georgia, which is NHRA member…so NHRA rules. Sounds like they’re pretty strict. Cayuga is NHRA as well, but won’t bother with roll cages till you’re 130+ and/or in the 10s. They slack on lots of rules.

Certainly not an unbelievable time by any means…the Tial cars should be running these types of times. It’s funny, the only two 605 cars in the 11s were both self tuned. He also posted this:

26.5psi, custom tune by myself and a few others, 60/40 w/m ratio, Southbend Stage 3 , Stock bottom end. 605s and meth, making about 450whp (on a fairly conservative dyno), maybe a bit more. Tires are Dunlop Star Specs, OZ Ultraleggera 17" wheels. Interior non-stock as well, no spare, no toolkit, no passenger seat, no rear seat.

11.49 is awesome, but lets be realistic…that’s not that crazy for lots of the modern cars. When we have C63 guys running high 10s all motor, and the new 5.5T M and AMG cars running 10s with just a tune, this is going to be a really frigging annoying set of circumstances.

You can go to the tower or tech at most knowledgeable tracks and ask for supercar rules considerations.

But you better have a car exotic enough for them to believe it could go that fast stock. I have bullshitted my way out of being kicked out before by convincing them my car was a special low numbers version from Audi, worked for cage and loop rules.

In reality the rules really shouldn’t apply in a lot of areas for well designed cars like modern audis

Yeah Cayuga was pretty funny with those GT-R’s; wasn’t one of them running 10’s? They had to shut it down at the end of each run to carry on playing all day. At the end of the day, these fast road cars are behaving no differently on the drag strip as they are joining the autobahn and hitting 140 mph!

Pretty much sums it up. The dyno listed as conservative is propably more like the actually number. What you find with Tials is Plenty of extremely high whp # or dyno charts but very slow cars. Those dyno charts are always on hand but the track times “NEVER,” When will people finally relealize it’s all a very big GIMMICK! Mostly all your 600+whp Tial cars are lucky to be making 480+whp in the real world.

I’m sure people will still yell and scream bloody murder after we post results, but I wanted to post this here to address Sakimoto…

We never said we weren’t going to do 1/4 mile testing. In fact, multiple outings to the drag strip was planned since the beginning of this project, but for various reasons it is not as high on the list of things to do as some people would prefer. You can infer whatever you want from that.

But here is some proof we do test our products, and this was just the first time out. We are happy with the results considering this car has never seen a drag strip before, we ran low boost, and it was a shakedown. We primarily wanted to show people we are serious, we take testing our products seriously, and we’ll be sharing more and more data as it is collected. 15 back to back runs, not a single issue or adjustment. That right there was the goal of the first outing, not fast times.

No one will ever be happy, but the point of my post is merely to respond to the claims that we never were going to run the 1/4 mile. Will the times/performance satisfy everyone here? Of course not! But I do believe people will be able to recognize this was our first time out, and more is to come. Since people seem quite good at sharing info between the forums, I probably won’t post much else here.

I’m assuming raacerx is someone from 034. I have no idea. I also can’t figure out if sakimoto is an insult or a typo. If it’s a typo, it’s odd, because sakimano is pretty easy. If it’s an insult, it’s a pretty shitty one because it’s not funny, or else it may just be some kind of Asian joke. So either you’re unfunny, or you like making fun of Asian sounding usernames. Neither is very good.

Also, lets look at what I ACTUALLY said, not what you claim I said.

i.e. you claim I said you’d ‘never’ go to the dragstrip. Not true. I started the thread because you or Max at 034 whoever that is was continually trying to:

a) discredit the quarter mile
b) not run the car at the dragstrip or provide timeslips
c) pre-provided a myriad of excuses to avoid the dragstrip or to pre-explain your tepid results (which are apparently now out…but all we have is a photo of a B5 at sunset at Sacramento Raceway)

If that is not worthy of starting a thread about on a forum where advertisers CAN NOT ban users and delete threads, I don’t know what is. We also hear you posting things like ‘oh, we wish we could run some cars at waterfest!’ but then we find out that when another tuner offered to run your single and Tial cars, you guys wanted none of it. So what’s really going on over there?

I think if you read through this thread, I was more bewildered by your posts over on AZ…which were riddled with inaccuracies, excuses and frankly terrible MISinformation about the dragstrip. I said a couple of times that I was sure the kit will be great, that 034 will go to the strip eventually, and that it didn’t make sense that 034 would support comments like those made by max about the dragstrip, because all that does is makes shitty companies (and I clearly said NOT 034) able to sell via the dyno and FATS.

Looking forward to you guys getting your car dialed in and posting something interesting. Good to see that you are going to use the dragstrip to provide some feedback to guys on how the car runs.

p.s. what are the results? I honestly have no idea. You posted a photo, not a timeslip or a video.

WTF was the point of this post. You realize that you just reaffirmed what sakimano was saying. So you had a complete failure at the track and your basically saying your happy that the car still runs?? WTF is this what we have reduced our-self to. We have no proof that your empty picture is even from this year let alone of a car with a single turbo on it. why would you waste any time and post a picture and not show results. Even if the results sucked it would be better then to waste time claiming your addressing the OP only to not address the OP.

I think the issue here is simple. Many companys make sell then test to see if it works. Sounds a lot to me like thats going on here. Next time try setting your standards higher then being happy your car still runs after 15 passes. Make sure to sell more parts before you actually tell people what they do… 034 parts… Ill pass.

Did I miss something or did someone just post a picture of their car at sacramento raceway without posting the results? I think one of my buddies was there that night with his 72 chevelle, ill ask him what kind of numbers the car was running.

I believe it is Max from 034 being that he has the same s/n on audizine and i read there post they say that there will be results from the track released on Wedensday which is tomorrow? Dont know why that just dont release them right away but maybe there gonna have some kind of sale or something when they do release the results

they want to make a video of the runs, and launch it wednesday with a red carpet affair and celebrity sightings. All to say they ran 12.2 @ 117 or something, by the sounds of the pre-excuses.

Well I spoke to my buddy mark with the chevelle that was at sacramento raceway last friday night. He said he saw a black audi there running 12s which was wasn’t really impressive to him so he didn’t really pay much attention. If that is the case I can definitely see why they only posted a picture…
