LOL. Here is the story on that…
I was test fitting some 20s at a VERY aggressive offset. I dialed the rear camber in to the MAX on the rear to see if I could squeeze them in. They were 245/30s stretched on a 10 inch wheel with a final offset of et13. It was close, but no cigar

I ran out of time, and just left the camber as it was at the max setting.
Then, I got the OZ wheels. The tires on them are 235/40/18. I more or less got them for free, and threw them on temporarily. So, I didnt care if the camber burned them up.
THEN, I loaded my car up one day with about 600 pounds of porcelain tiles.
Final result = stancetardish camber LOL
Definitely wont be so aggressive on the RS6, but I have to admit that I do like the look of it on these cars. They look best with the fronts wheels tucked in a bit, and the rear wheels pushed out to the max. IMHO
pushed out is one thing. Looks awesome and aggressive. However stancetard camber to make you slower and shred tires is another thing altogether.
it’s what people with 4 cylinder motors and limited performance modifications do other than a loud fartcan and an intake…they don’t really care much about performance, just show. It’s a way to make your econobox interesting and crazy.
Your car has a 4.2 twin turbo V8, and is a super rare limited production RS car. It is already as interesting as hell and you don’t need these silly superficial attention getting stance setup tactics.
Yeah, as I said, the RS6 wont be that low.
…
was there water intrusion at some point?
once you rescan after some miles the picture should be clearer
I dont think so. It was in a bad accident, but that was a few years ago. Here is a rescan and what came back, but only five miles after clearing the codes

Looks like fresh plugs, coils, primary o2’s and maybe a MAF and it should run pretty good. Those codes aren’t anything I wouldn’t expect on a 10 year old 77k mile Audi
I have to say. You are one committed v8 owner. Great stable of cars
LOL. Yeah, for whatever reason the C5 v8 platform hits so many of my ‘wants’ in a car, I just keep buying one after another. Doesn’t hurt that prices on them are at rock bottom now that they are mostly 10+ years old. If I went for anything newer I wouldnt have any money left for mods.
Thanks for the rundown. Looks like its in need of a refresh. Its actually 77k kms (approx 48k miles), but what you suggest still makes sense.
Removed the stock wheels, since I plan on selling them (and the tires were the wrong size). Put my winters on in the meantime. The definitely let you see the brakes better, but, to be honest, black calipers (even giant RS6 calipers) get lost.

Needs moar lower
I’ve always thought the C5 RS6 was the most incredible car of it’s time in america. As with many, the tip trans was the only thing keeping it from being perfect.
Sounds like a great project.
I’d be interested in the body/chassis/interior of your A6 4.2 if interested in selling at some point. I have a spare motor that just needs a tranny and a sweet ride to throw into. You could leave the clutch, brake, accelorator pedal assembly as I have a spare to swap… less work.
Regardless, this is going to be a great project. Enjoy!
Thanks
Where are you located? The car is in Toronto Canada.
wheels look good, with meater sidewall I think they’d look great
Nice RS6. I like that color and the Sprint Blue ones. They are suck great cars to drive.
With the multiplicative too rich faults I would start by looking at your MAF or the diverter valves. My 2.7T is having a similar issue right now.
Thanks for the tips, guys.
Yeah, Beemercer, I like the big tire too. I ran stretched tires for awhile, and got really sick of them. I think they only look good on the right rim, with a large lip. Anyway, lately I’ve been all about lightweight wheels and fat tires. We will see how long it takes me to get sick of that look LOL
BTW, I have changed my mind about parting out the A6 (for the time being anyway).
I local guy came to buy something, and then asked about selling the entire car. So, for now the car is up for sale. It may go to him, or someone else. If it isnt gone by the end of the month then the partout beings. The car is listed in the Classifieds, for anyone interested.
