Whats up guys
Stumbled over here from AZ land after hearing there were more productive discussions about the JHM nitrous kit over here.
I see Jake@JHM is active over here, so that should be helpful too.
My car: 2008 B7 S4 Avant, Tip(yeah yeah… may convert in the Fall, unless JHM can sort out that Tip Tune soon!)
About 90k on the ticker.
Service: Timing service performed in the last 5k miles… pretty much everything except the chains got replaced.
Trans was serviced as well, new fluid and filter.
Oil changed every 5k with JHM’s Motul/OEM filter kit.
No unusual oil consumption or known service history issues
Mods: JHM Headers, Race Cats, FI Catback with resonators
JHM 93 tune
JHM LWCP
JHM LW Rotors, Hawk Street pads
KW V3 Coilovers, upgraded control arms all around with adjustable uppers
Apikol snub and rear diff mounts
034 RSB, and 034 HD motor mounts
OEM RS4 TI 19’s with 235/35 PSS tires
Plans: JHM manifold and TB is already sitting at the shop i use for performance instal work i cant handle.
Im on the verge of going for the Nitrous kit as well, and im looking for some feedback on few things…
1. Im not to thrilled about the idea of taking up half my trunk space with a bottle.. has anybody successfully installed one in the spare tire area? If so, are there any downsides to doing this?
2. I have done some reading on nitrous in general.. one thing i read is that its better to pulse the nitrous shot and ramp it up with RPM's.. does this happen with the JHM kit, or is just one big shot all at once? Can somebody briefly explain the functionality of the remote bottle opener (i assume as its name implies that i would be able to open the bottle while driving) and if i need that or not? Can the shop i have do the instal set the shot (75, 100 shot etc) or does it come pre set from JHM?
3. JHM recommends a trans cooler with their SC kit i believe.. it recommended for this as well?
Appreciate it guys! Ill keep you updated on the build.
