Which CF trim, S4 or DTM/RS4 one?

S4… i asked oCarbon, but they said they only sell whole sets. ECS seems to carry every trim options except CF… but they are like $280… crazy.

Yeah i have a hairline crack in the CF on my rear driver side door. Ive been looking around for that one piece but all i can ever find is someone selling an entire set.

I saw an RS4 cf shifter trim on ebay for like 120 recently, but I see it’s useless now. I’d ask Brian_216 maybe he could fab one up for you. It’s relatively easy for that piece.

Latest update on this build is not very positive… long story short the engine that i just swapped in is no good. The consensus is that there is a bad wrist pin thats causing a piston to not function properly and thus causing bad compression. Basically the engine has to come back out, and either get re-built, or replaced. Either way, its a lose lose… so much money already into this re-build.

Looking into the possibility of an RS4 swap… may have a lead on a good block with all the accesories. The starts will have to aloign to make that happen, but its worth looking into at least. Alternativerly, i may just part the thing out. We’ll see! :-X

Don’t kid yourself, you want to do the rs4 motor ;). Where did you buy the s4 replacement motor from?

Can you pair B6/7 S4 transmission to RS4 engine as in straight plug and play type of application?

As Euro said, yes, the case is the same on both. Just some different gearing.

ill update when i confirm i have usable engine, but i am heading down that path as a last resort. If that doesnt come together, who knows… may part the whole thing out and sell it. :-X

Recently overhauled heads - valve guides and seals done. Decked. $800/side.

Timing components - a full timing job was done on this engine just last week. If you are planning to do a timing service, you may want to consider taking all the guides, chains and tensioner that I just had installed. Will sell all as a package… Will negotiate price based on what’s taken.

JHM ported manifold and TB. ($1,150 plus a core, retail) This was on my previous engine, and prob has about 5k miles tops. Obviously not a wear part… So should be as good as brand new. Paint is a dark silver/gunmetal finish. $900

JHM mid length headers with test pipes, with ceramic coating. These are brand new and have at most had about 15min of engine run time through them. I am asking $2,200 for these. So you are getting two things… The ceramic coating ($600) and fast delivery (Took 6-8 weeks from JHM) hopefully this sounds reasonable.

JHM Nitrous setup. Check JHM website for details if you are not familiar. With remote bottle opener and tune, this is a $3,300 kit. I’m asking $2k. If you are interested we can work out a deal on the brand new NX billet bottle mount($350), heater($100) and composite bottle($700) that I have as well. If bought as a package I’ll do $2,500 for all.

JHM oil cooler and aux radiator delete ($795 retail). This is brand new. Asking $600.

So sorry to hear about the issue. Wont the parts place warranty the motor. It being bad like that. They should do something thats not right that they sold you a bad motor.

2 things. One about the manifold not being a wear part, i bought a used one that cracked from the inside out so there can be issues. Just letting you know.

And 2 i sent you a text about the nitrous setup. Im intrigued by it but it kind of scares the hell out of me because if i blow this motor my wife would probably divorce me after what happened last year lol.

oh ok, didn’t know that was you. When it kicks in its a fun experience. Like i said in ly text through, i had it installed by a shop. What i was planning to do actually was have a tuner that has experience with nitrous systems take a look at the setup and make sure everything was properly sorted. That would have been the next step actually…

Nitrous kit sold today actually… will be sending it to a guy in Canada.

So the motor did have a 90 day warranty… of course that expired about a month ago. RSW knew we had a deadline, but we just ended up loosing track of time with the 6MT conversion. Nobody’s fault, but obviously the worst case scenario!

Looks like i have a good RS4 block. Needs new oil pans through.

This will be an interesting swap. It shouldnt be too hard as they are both b7 cars. Just make sure you get the entire wire to swap and maybe the transmission as well.

Nova Scotia, I was at the strip on the weekend though.
