It really doesn’t other than being a potentially funny situation. BCsniper made a funny comment (that he apparently forgets) about the possibility the engine was a formerly blown flying tomatoes engine. Some people think FT has made an engine replacement or two during his Apr supercharged experience.
What exactly am I forgetting? I’m pretty sure I clarified in my last post unless you can’t comprehend.
I claimed 1 of them could be FT’s motor. The one I was referring to was the one that did not come from 65vetteC6 since we know he got that wrecked car from Copart.

In search of upper and lower RS4 oil pans… vin split on the lower is for the older run of engines… dont have vin though.

Pans get in this week. Things slowed down a bit… have to spread out some spending for the holiday season. Should be some real progress as we get closer to Christmas and the new year.

Major updates for those not following on AZ and elsewhere:
RS4 power train swap is 98% complete. Car is running and driving well. It sounds absolutely amazing… for those who were hating on the EBWorx catback, I just dont get it. The car pulls like hell and I never stop hearing from people about how blown away they are by the sound of it.
Issues to work out still: Swap in RS4 ABS module (current one is looking for a TCU), fuel pump on low side is always on… need to fix this. Need to instal resistor for passenger side airbag to clear light from instal of Recaro Sportster CS seats.
Next up: instal GruppeM intake, custom tune at United Motorsports
Winter project: Full RS4 widebody swap. Parts are already in my garage and i start getting estimates on labor this weekend. Paint will be deep green or Mugello Blue most likely…

Oh man thanks for the update. I think myself and several others have had enough of the drama on AZ so lots of us dont go there or even follow links.
The EBWorks exhaust thing was never the sound it was the fact that it was a documented rip off of the JHM exhaust even trying to sorce the mufflers. The mufflers caused some flow issues and to make the EB exhaust more profitable they cut a few corners. The hate was more on the fact that the creater of the exhaust was trying to sell the EB exhaust by bashing JHM. Due to that and all the BS around the exhaust most people just had enough.

It was simple
- the guy who designed it admitted to ripping off JHM’s design, all the way down to seeking their supplier for mufflers (who told him to fuck off). That’s why they were blasted on the forums
- it didn’t sound that great to me. Just hella loud. If you’re into hella loud, you might like it. I find it a bit too frappy and unrefined.
did they rip off the 2.75in tube diameter use? The fact that there is an X pipe? Not exactly a ton of room for creativity in exhaust design in these cars… its not like an R8 or a Porsche… but i get it… that parts sucks

I am running JHM downpipes, and im sure those are contributing the majority of the low end grunt and amazing sounds that i am getting.

To understand the EBwerks thing you need to realize no one at the time was making a 2.75" X-pipe exhaust for the RS4 in the US. Every company had a 2.5" Hpipe setup or no crossover at all…basically a shit design for the RS4 JHM had a few prototypes out before they began full production and that is when a few fucking losers, namely Mick and Ben decided to rip the exhaust, change a few very tiny details, and tried to sell as may as they could before the JHM exhaust was released. Mick I believe had one of the first JHM exhausts before he had a falling out with JHM and began his hate campaign and he went as far as to make up fake us comparison tests to prove the EBwerks exhaust made more power. He swapped heavier wheels onto his car and even more BS.
Mick is also the idiot that logged his JHM tune in his driveway blipping the throttle to show lean spikes in a log, the idiots who had no clue what they were looking at went crazy.
People aren’t butt hurt, we will always hate scumbags from the past and you should know scumbags always come back around so learn from the past and all the people they tried to fool. You bought the exhaust because of the price and the low price was because EBwerks is a nobody and was trying to offload product from a botched business deal. I’m glad you like the sound, but keep an eye on the mufflers if they see crappy environments.

Definitely good to know the full back story. Ill share performance data with you guys when i get it in the Spring. Im dropping the car off for the body work and paint job in the next couple of weeks… goal it to have it done by mid April. Ill get the tune done then.

p.s. the only car to test performance WITH and WITHOUT the Ebwerks catback and downpipes went SLOWER. How’s that grab you? Also, instead of using 2.75" mufflers they used smaller mufflers and tried to stretch them out to mate. The result? A nice restriction in your exhaust where the gases are slowest. Funny.
But hey, yeah maybe it is great.
