its official, im getting a new clutch.... sorta lol

well my lease is coming to an end and had to decide whether i should buy out my current lease or not. i really love the car and dont want anything different at the moment. i did test drive the SQ5 tho and LOVED it. great little truck with tons of pick up and go. i would/will get that truck when i HAVE to give up my manual and go stage 3 with it haha. i feel like 1 more 3 pedal car and then get the SQ5 at 30 lol.

after deciding i NEED a manual car, i did the math. between getting a new clutch plus install plus my current payments, the numbers make much more sense to get into a 2014 s4. so sometime in the next month i will be picking up a new s4, color still TBD. and i will transfer all mods over to the new one which means ill have a brand new fresh clutch that hasnt been soiled by clutchmasters haha. top three color choices are glacier white, phantom black, and estoril blue

I’ll leave this here.

Richi, Interesting… You sure you don’t want to try something different? I see you asking some questions on the RS5 DSG on vendorzine… If you 100% want to stick with a manual have you test driven a TTRS? It is so much funner to drive than the S4, assuming you don’t need the space of the sedan… Probably just me but I couldn’t dump the S4 for just a refresh especially since you already have the steering wheel and such… Just my .02 Good luck and looking forward to whatever it is you get… These damn S8 times have me tempted to get a RS7…

the problem is that im pretty specific in what i want in a car, im a 4 door guy who wants a manual and prefers AWD which limits me quite a bit. there are really only two cars that fit the bill and i wont go dark side. i need a daily driver that can do and go anywhere for now. when my priorities change i will get a SQ5 and give it to my girl and then the tt-rs would be more realistic lol

i was asking that guy on AZ since i was briefly toying with the idea of s-tronic and was curious if he missed the stick at all.

And they have that nice reliable transmission ;D

zF 8 speed is dreamy, did a few laps in a Jag F-type V8S around the a track a week ago, quite nice :o

that tranny was in the SQ5 too and it was very nice, brutal when you wanted it to be, i was very surprised

tough to get a new manual 4door car with AWD that’s fun and isn’t $120,000. It’s a seriously short list.

335xi (or whatever it’s called)
B8 S4

…aaaaaaand that’s it. WTF.

Are there ANY other options? This is fucked. Because that’s my list too…and it’s shrinking like crazy.

I may end up keeping my RS4 for a long time. I should buy a couple more for parts cars. Just start loading up.

i actually did contemplate the rs4 since its more or less a wash with my current buy out. but knowing rs4’s as well as i do and the people that tend to own them, i dont want to pick up a used one of those. hell my new one was a nightmare until the new motor went in and that shit wasnt fun, i dont want to be stuck with someone elses abuse.

yeah, the RS4 is getting tough to buy. It’s old. I have had mine for over 2 years. When I bought it there were plenty of good ones. Now it’s tougher.

There are still 1 owner cars that are in great shape, but when they come up for sale, this happens…

Nice to have a new car, however after you transfer mods you will have another clutch-melting car that will need an upgrade likely in the same amount of miles. You should get the stage 5 clutch so that you can play with no worries

Golf R (counts, but it’s slow)
TT RS

Golf R and TT RS are two door vehicles, well three if you count the hatch.

Disregard, golf r is available in a four door. :o

Friend bought the 4 door R and with some boltons it’s very zippy.

from what pete told me, the b8.5 clutch setup feels much more stout. in his words “the b8 felt like glass” and he beats the shit out of his clutch pretty good lol. in the future tho i will most likely go with the Eurocode setup for the clutch
