I've given up re my sticking clutch pedal

I was in my car with Dan from JHM this Saturday and we got to talking about the sticky clutch.

He feels that it iis 100% the pressure plate and the SAC mechanism that cause the issue. Can’t avoid it without replacing the pressure plate and eliminating the SAC. He also thinks it is related to the massive RPMs the RS4 reaches. This can be seen with the B5/6/7 guys having virtuallly no problems with this B7 RS4 pressure plate on their cars, whereas the RS4 guys ALL run into the problem.

I asked him if JHM thought about making a R pressure plate option for people who don’t want to deal with sticky clutch, but also don’t want to go aftermarket clutch (lots ofthe RS246 guys for example say they will never go with anythign other than the stock clutch). He said yes but problem is you would still have that SAC mechanism potentially causing issues.

I don’t think its from RS 4 pressure plate as I am having same issue .
All parts replaced new . Factory audi: master, salve , plastic pivot for fork. Aftermarket parts replaced: flywheel (jhm) , clutch ( clutch masters ).
What I did was set up a carbutor return spring to assist the pedal.

What pressure plate Is it? I. E. JHM uses the oem rs4 pressure plate on their clutch kit. Not sure about your car.

Not 100% on manufacturer but deffinetly not factory pressure plate as it doesn’t have the weighted springs. Very convential looking.

??? But it still has the SAC system, which is what Dan is saying that is the issue. I would imagine that they have had no issues with the newest setup due to them getting rid of the SAC system and Dan is making his diagnosis based on JHMs R&D

IMHO the SAC mechanism is almost pointless and causes more headache than help. I guess it would be useful for people who suck at driving manual transmission cars and can’t adjust their release point throughout the life of the clutch due to wear.

Interesting…

I don’t have sac system.

That is what we were asking…what PP do you have now? You had the JHM kit, right?

Never had a jhm clutch. Only jhm flywheel with a clutch masters fx300. Sorry about the confusion ! Lol

Right on, I was truly confused. Good input that your also having the issue and you don’t have the SAC system. Hopefully JHM gets to the bottom of this before I snatch up an RS4.

I definitely got the old price. I purchased a while ago with some other stuff…

Interesting work-around… Any pics of the setup?
