Saw “the man” just a few minutes ago. It looks like my methanol injection installation will be finished and finalized tomorrow. I forgot to ask but I think he still needs to install the wide band. But… I think my car will be baby tuned and ready for me next week.
My wife just asked me if I’d sell the S4 if we replaced it with an R8… I have to admit I’m tempted. We’re going to go for a test drive but I’m going to guess she won’t like it. She really wants an LF-A.
Anyway. I only have a three car garage and I doubt we’d be trading in her daily driver. But you never know.
…I believe we’re just waiting on the final tightening up of the methanol injection wiring/piping/tubing (whatever you want to call it) and the welding of the exhaust. Then wide band installation. Then tuning. Almost there.

Will do. He said I could come drive the car today if I wanted to. Not sure if that means the methanol installation is finished but I’m guessing the exhaust is welded back together. That might only leave the wide band to be installed. I’ll write back when I find out where he’s at.

Thank you! I’m anxious as well. I said I wasn’t going to be anxious until it got closer to completion and it’s been right there now for a few weeks. And yeah, no bottle at all for awhile. Honestly, I doubt I’ll need it. I think this car is going to be fast enough.

We’re just waiting on a coupler and another nozzle to arrive from Devil’s Own. Everything will be on hand by Monday get the tune going.
I’m pretty confident I’ll be driving the car next week.
Today is the day that the final piece to this nine month initial build arrives - a single tube for the methanol injection that’ll replace two tubes that were going to be coupled. After this replacement tube is installed in place of the other, it’ll be ready for Count Vohn’s conservative tune - who emailed me this morning to see how things were coming along. So, it looks like I’ll be in the car, driving it, any day now. Lets see.
For some reason the package is still at Devil’s Own. It’s set to arrive by 10:30am eastern time tomorrow. Another day, another day that nothing gets done.

Yeah. Me too. On another note, a friend of a friend is looking for a turn-key stage 3 S4 and a couple of months ago I asked my friend to look for a buyer. So… I think he’s coming NEXT weekend to take a look at it. I’m probably going to boost the price to where he’s not going to want it because I really don’t want to sell it. However, if he doesn’t mind paying my obscene price, I’ll part ways and get an R8. Again, I really doubt that’ll happen but I’m just throwing it out there in case it does.

I haven’t added up all my receipts for parts and labor but I plan on asking for that, plus the price I paid for the car, plus $5k. If he wants it, he wants it. If he doesn’t, I won’t lose any sleep over it.
