My registration, tags, and state safety inspection had expired after July. I actually got pulled over by a cop in my neighborhood while test driving my car last week. He gave me a verbal warning to hurry up and get my car fixed. It only took me showing him pictures of the timing chain service to get him to ease up because when he first walked up to the car he was heated. Who knows maybe he spilled his coffee or something.
EDIT: It was cool that I passed the emissions test without cats or the secondary air injection components. All the readiness codes were passed with no fault codes stored. The inspector didn’t say a thing about the car. I expected him to at least say something about all the exhaust wrap/insulation.
