JBones's Silver Bullet B6 S4

Jason, I am sure that both Jason@JHM and I have a pile of broken parts. That reminds me that I filled up a whole trashcan with scrap parts, which doesn’t include the old trans or rear diff cases.

Recently I shipped off some parts to be looked at for stronger replacements so I will update when I hear back.

A while ago, I installed 034 Motorsport billet engine mounts with 10 mm studs and their billet transmission mount. Also got new rebuilt OEM front axles for upcoming 1/4 mile passes like tomorrow. So we shall see how it goes.

It definitely made a noticeable improvement to take off the intake manifold flap piece and grind it open a little bit.

Jason broke just about everything in the pursuit of seeing where they should spend their time. With that being said they didn’t think the diff was a big weakness that warranted investigating. IF you shred one like jbones did here, just count yourself unlucky and move on.

Don’t you have the modified intake manifold? Doesn’t that service come with freshening up that part? I guess I am surprised that yours would have needed that.

I do have the modified intake manifold but I am not sure if they open it up as far as I did. I also got the rebuild kit for the intake manifold flap vacuum piece up front from the dealership but I haven’t had time to install it yet.

do you have a part # on this? I think mine might be failing

I will get it for you tomorrow. It is expensive; like over $400.

Great, thank you. 400 bucks is robbery for those parts but I’ve already done the DIY procedure once and that only seemed to work for a couple months.

Yep. The N249 valve is another $90 on top it.

Can you make a thread about the intake mod…why did it only work for a few months

What did you use to remove material from the aluminum housing?
