JBones's Silver Bullet B6 S4

beemercer, No. I didn’t think about it until after I had already put the manifold back on the car and bolted it down.

My S5(afe) Hyden, The heat shielding has made a noticeable difference already. It would be great if I could have gotten a vented hood too but the only vented hood available is from EuroGEARusa and they are made to order with a four to six week lead time.

65vetteC6, They are the eight piston calipers. Audi uses the same caliper on all the RS cars and R8s. The rotors are 15mm bigger than the LW JHM Porsche Cayenne rotors that I have on there now but they also weigh more too. It looks like the brake pads will bite into the rotor better and over more area then the Porsche setup.

Euro and Saki, The calipers are beaten up so that is why I wanted to get them redone. Black will hide them behind the wheels so nobody will notice but it is the stock color. I also found RS decals that would work.

Mr. Wrong, My dad said the same thing. He likes the silver Porsche calipers that are on there now. I was also going to do the rear calipers and brackets too. That will probably happen when I do the last modification that I have in store for this car.

I would leave the calipers as is. It’s a little gay having the R8 sticker on there, but it’s authentic. Get an S4 sticker to slap over it.

Go with silver, it’ll nicely match up to your cars color and pop against black wheels you have on.

I don’t think I’ve seen it done before, but what are everybody’s thoughts on ceramic coating the bottom of IM against heat? Anybody done it? Maybe apply on top of ceramic coating a reflect-a-gold too…

Only reason I was asking was because the Euro version have the 6 pot option iirc.

Big second.

Big second.

I have seen that before. Just didn’t think about it until too late. That looks a lot better than stock!

Today I broke another axle. I was just driving normally around town and heard a clunking noise. On the way home I tried accelerating to merge onto a major highway and I hear a loud boom then the car will not move any more. This is a new personal best of destroying an axle with ten broken pieces including the broken bolts and heat shield.

That looks like a grenade went off. Impressive.

Axles aren’t cheap. Maybe its time to get really nice rear axles and just leave the front disconnected…RWD Audi burnouts!

Are there any heavy duty axles

Wonder if/how JHM is addressing axles in Stage 2+ builds?

The first time or two it’s cool, but it’s got to just be frustrating at this point.

Are you getting a lot of wheel hop on the launches? Because typically it’s the wheel hop that will snap an axel, not just spinning tires.

I know JHM broke a couple, but I feel like if it was half as common as you’ve seen they would of mentioned it and publicly had a product out there. I do seem to recall that Jay did look into some stronger axles at some point. I don’t know if they got made, or were just too expensive to market.
