JBones's Silver Bullet B6 S4

Thanks Justin. I am finally getting to the fun stuff like intake manifold spacers, downpipes, clutch and flywheel, etc.

I have unleaded 100 octane in the car now for VIR. I will keep it running on the good juice for a little bit just to see how it does at the dragstrip too. We are a long ways out from next Sunday but the weather guessers are saying that the high temperature will be in the mid 40s. Guess I will have to wait and see.

Hey yesterday morning, I realized that my S4 is the limited edition version where it idles at 3K rpms and revs to 9Kish rpms. It is hard to tell when the needle bounces off the date portion of the tachometer.

Well at least the best part is that there are no virgin B6 S4 replacement instrument clusters for my car are in the USA so a new one had to be Red ordered from Germany. >:(

lol. definitely not a Honda civic where after market, used, and oem parts are everywhere.

Oh that sucks. What a interesting problem that you would never want to have.

Sounds like the needle moved on its peg. It’s only a press fit. I had to move mine once; just lift it up, turn it to where you want it, and press it down.

Update: I got a brand new instrument cluster from the dealership. It actually came in next day. The cluster was expensive (just over $1K) but at least everything works now like my tach, speedo, etc. Before my speedometer was optimistically off by four to seven mph depending on speed and now it is exactly right, Yay.

Also my new wheels came in today.

They are Advan TCIII in 18x9 ET 25 Hyper Silver and according to my shop scale they weigh 18 pounds bare.

Look at this brake clearance:

I printed out some templates for some test fitting a while ago just incase I wanted to go to bigger brakes and the templates clear.

EDIT: Also I have been slacking on finishing up my DIYs so I will be working on that tonight. Hopefully while the Dolphins are stomping the Jets.

Very nice wheels, huge clearance there! Great work Jimmy, I always enjoy reading your updates and threads so keep up the good work!

those will look great. im always a fan of a simple 5 star look.

Sick, that’s what I need to do. Great work Jimmy.

Good to hear you have your instrument cluster working. Lovin the rims.
