I updated my B6/7 S4 and RS4 rear suspension and axles post above and I started a new thread about it in the DIY/TECH/INFORMATIVE section. Hopefully this helpful to a few people.
No, all the RS/R8 front brakes are very similar but slightly different. The biggest differences are the brake rotor to caliper offset, the front lower support bar, and the paint jobs. The R8 calipers that I got had the Apikol brackets on them so that they could be used on a B6/7 car but I still had to modify them for my car.

Got the vast majority of the rear of the car bolted back together and now I can work on the front end. That is assuming that I get time to do so since I have been working on a bunch of other people’s cars over the past few weeks.

The front lower rear control arms need the subframe to be lowered to have enough room to get the boot in and out unless you want to destroy your plastic undercarriage. The front lower front you can get to no problem. The rear control arms need the rear subframe lowered to be able to remove the front bolt from the inside of the lower control arm and the inside bolt of the upper control arm. I ended up having to use a combination wrench for a lot of this.
