JBones's Silver Bullet B6 S4

Thanks guys.

The wrap, armor, and clamps doesn’t weigh much so maybe a five to ten pounds overall from front to back. It is spread out across the length of the car so I don’t really care.

Funny picture Saki. If the kid had his arm up signaling touchdown then it would match the X-pipe perfectly.

I was planning on check the exhaust temps on your car since it has a FI catback as well. It would be best if I could do before and after the V1 headers install in a few controlled situations.

Right now the car wants to be difficult. It will not crank consistently. If I keep trying then I can get it to crank a few times to prime the engine with oil then when when I put the plugs in it will not crank at all any more. All the usual offenders (fuses, starter, clutch starter interlock switch, ignition switch, battery, ECU relay) have been replaced so I have some hunting to do.

Damn, hope you get it to crank right soon. A buddy of mine had the same issue and it ended up being that he didn’t connect one of the grounds all the way or something. Best of luck!

I thought about that too but I have the three engine compartment grounds that I messed with hooked up tight.

  1. Starter ground
  2. Harness ground on the back of the passenger’s side cylinder head right next to the throttle body.
  3. On the engine side of the cowl wall between the oil filter housing and the coolant tank.

There are some more grounds under the ABS module but they have never been messed with.

awesome job!

Hmm, well it’s probably not the grounds… I’m sure you’ll figure it out soon!

A separate question, have you thought about putting heat shielding around the braided oil cooler lines that pass right by the exhaust manifold/headers? I hate that mine pass right by there… I worry it negates the cooler

Jimmy, if you want, you can bounce the difference of temps between my exhaust and yours when my Avant is up there for service…

going through the same thing got my motor back in and started dealing with gremlins. I have a new starter, new ignition switch, fairly new crank position sensor, plugs, coil packs, new maf sensor, new ecu relay think it was a 219. At one point the car would start right up once i got the motor in but it ran rough until i replaced the maf then when i took it for a drive it shut off on me and wouldnt crank. Now i replaced the brake and clutch switch and started cranking again but wouldnt fire up. Got a p0347 code. Could a cam sensor be my issue i replaced the driver side before my timing tensioners and adjusters were done but never replaced the passenger side

Have you been able to check the voltage going to the starter when cranking?

nope but i replaced the battery a few days ago because my fans kept coming on until i changed my relay. Now i just leave the cables off just incase my rnse(retrofit) is draining it too

Also make sure you check the fuses

wich others should i check? i checked for fuel pump and can hear it prime

Thanks guys.
