theres always room for improvement. i dont think anyone has every really nailed the perfect run. also if he can get out there on a cooler night, that helps, dont know the temp but cali is wierd with temps. also depends on 60, if he did a 1.7, he can definitely do a 1.6. a 1.6 and he’s flying. 1.5, and hes doin it. it can be done, just needs time
but 2 tenths off the 60 foot = a high 10.6…but that’s only IF he ran a 1.7

Guruman is a retard for trying to spark controversy. He’s saying Jay was on nitrous when he went 11.1 @ 130 a few years back, claiming the 10.8 @ same trap proves this.
No, shit for brains…this proves a couple of things
1. the tune on this Rs6 setup is nowhere near as aggressive as that tune was for the K04 setup. That K04 car was pretty well maxed out.
2. the current tune is far better for accelerating, as the b6/7 and RS4 tuning development has shown…JHM is making cars go faster without increasing power and being safer for the motor. They made the APR RS4 7 tenths faster with a bunch of tuning adjustments, but didn’t make an extra 75 whp…they have just learned a ton in the past few years. For another example, Jay went 12.2 @ 119 on the JHM SC a year and a half ago, then went 11.9 @ 116 with a safer tune a year later that accelerated better but made LESS POWER. Does that mean the 12.2 @ 119 was on nitrous? No gurugirl…it means the tuner is evolving and constantly learning. It means the car’s acceleration (ET) doesn’t revolve around only power. If EPL et al would EVER learn this, they’d have a fast car. But they won’t. Same with gurugirl…he had to make 650 whp in order to run 10s at 140+. Maybe try a JHM tune guru. 650 whp with 300 lbs of weight reduction + being a B5 A4 not an S4 (even lighter) should have you threatening 10.00…not barely getting into the high 10.5s.
3. Jay’s b5 car weighs about 125 lbs more today than it did back then explaining some of the gap (full exhaust vs. no dps/no catback, steel hood vs. CF hood)
4. the biggest thing this run shows us is that to get into the tens, you don’t need to be a douchebag who talks about himself like he split the atom every 5 minutes…and you don’t need to make 650 whp, and remove your fucking bumpers to run a good time. You can be quiet about things, go about your business and kick ass when the time is right.
All in all, I think guruman and his A4 with a 2.7T swap is making a total joke out of himself. I’m not taking anything away from the fact that he ran WELL into the 10s and broke some new ground for some of the B5 customers, but in reality there’s a way to go about doing it…and he is not choosing that way. The fact is his car hasn’t run in ages, and he’s all talk until this 50,000 dollar build actually runs 9s. Hell, I’d be impressed if FULL INTERIOR, FULL BODY, FULL STREET TRIM it could beat 10.8.

Here is some REAL FACTUAL inside information. RodV8 was there so he can 100% attest to this being true.
1 Jay’s car was Running less boost then his 11.1 k04 pass & is now much heavier with full exhaust etc.
2 The tune on Jay’s car was developed to run stronger Area under the curve & is still in the beginning stages of tuning. The 1/8th mile MPH was 4 mph faster than the 11.1 time.
3 There was only 3 passes made by jay that day in his car, mostly to gauge where the car is now compared to the previous setup.
Why…
His throttle body wasn’t working. BOTTOM LINE his car went 10.8 with a broken throttle body that wasn’t opening all the way. He had a RS4 throttle body on the car so we couldn’t switch it out with any of the other B5s there that day.
Why was the Trap not higher then 130… When you can’t open the throttle more than 80% you’re choking off power.
As for the haters and people who have issues with how fast JHMs 10sec car is.
Here is a $20,000 bet open to anyone;
The bet works like this. The individual meets JHM at the track pays for entry then meets the JHM Car at the time slip booth. From that point the car will never leave that individuals sight. From there the car gets loaded onto an open trailer and taken to an independent shop for removal of the motor and all the components. All this is to be paid for and done on the same day.
For any one that wishes to talk Nitrous And Make claims that they think JHM has Nitrous on their car.
Here’s how this works, JHM puts up $20,000 Vs Anyone claiming they don’t believe this. The other person put’s up $5000 JHM puts up $5000 from there, that $5000 pays for a complete inspection and motor removal of the car and complete tear down of the car. The $5000 is used for payment and inspection of the motor.
This is after the said individual pays for the track fee for JHM to go run a 10sec pass.
When the independent individual finds no sign of Nitrous on the car the remaining $15,000 gets paid to JHM as there has never been nor will there ever need to be Nitrous on the JHM B5 S4.
Please remember there’s nothing really over the top in this car/setup when compared to many of the other built cars out there “now a days RS4 part’s are very basic” no 600 - 750 claimed whp car here, maybe an realistic 500 - 530whp @ best, no GT turbos, no meth, no E85 or gutted car, no dyno chart just a time slip! “No Tricks!”

Count setting it straight as usual - nice. Count you able to give any further info on the engine i.e. cams, y-pipe etc. or is it all RS4 stuff.
The other impressive part is this was all done on a stock computer, guru’s runs have been on a standalone. The computer in the B5 is a lot more tune able than people think. I would love to see guru’s new engine tuned by JHM (you have to admit, that it is an amazing engine regardless of cost)

I don’t think the trap speed would be off by much. First off, trap speed is your average over those 66 feet, so what you were at at the pole isn’t exactly related. Second of all, the speedometers on these cars are ALL off by at least 2-3%, and on some it’s worse. Throw in different sized tires than stock and you have a recipe for an inaccurate speedometer.
My bone stock B7 Rs4 shows 100 mph when I’m actually going 95 mph, and I have bone stock tire size. I’ve confirmed this with 3 different GPS units including a PBOX, and 2 in car Nav units.
At the end of the day, we know what Jay ran, we know it was a good tune that produced it as well as some great driving. None of us should be surprised that he went 10.8 @ 130. We all expect them to dial it in even more.

Reminds me of Marc back in the day accusing Jason for using nitrous. Jason got too close to his times with a full weight K04 car and it’s the same situation here. Guru has spent way too much money on his builds and is simply butt-hurt.
