JHM B6 b7 s4 supercharged stage 2

http://youtu.be/zrNUcEwCAIQ

I thought we should give this it’s own thread so it didn’t clog MDUBZ thread.

I don’t know if JHM will keep the 8k rpm or if it’s just for testing. But the acceleration looks crazy and there intercooler is working really well actually crazy well. The JHM intercooler actually dropped the temperature at a few points in the run. And after a full pull of 3 gears the JHM intercooler had less temperature rise in over 3 gears then the roots style supercharger kits have in just 1 gear. Impressive

I went on a ride on that car:)

I’m guessing, because they shared that video, that this will be for the built engines once they finalize the tune. That’d be crazy if they were trying to blow a built engine to test what the limits are.

Acceleration and intake temps are crazy. It sure is exciting to see this platform progress.

Wow just wow… So much want!!! I hate teasers like that, I want more cause MOAR!

Good idea Justin.

It is too bad that we can’t see the speedometer. Not that it is totally accurate anyways but I would guess that this is in the 130-136 mph range.

I have watched the video a few more times and it looks like Jason launches at 4300-4400 rpms. That is very interesting because I have to leave around 1900-2000 rpms or I will spin like hell.

Must have been hard to hold on while riding on the car.

It didn’t look like he dumped the clutch like you usually do either, I wonder what tires they have on the car and how much of a burnout they did.

I noticed that too. You can see the car start rolling before you hear the clutch bang closed. Either way though, his 0-60mph time looks like it’s under 3 seconds.

That is true. Jason is a hell of a driver.

Doubt they did anything special with tires.

The run did look like he was just giving it a little power out of the hole. You could sense the tires were spinning for a brief second there. As for the tires I doubt they are anything special just like Jimmy said. The one thing you know about JHM they seem to be very committed to running cars in street trim.

What did it run last night?

True. Every video of theirs that I have seen has always been in street trim. For how brutally loud that car is it seemed pretty quiet in the cabin.

I thought it was about 3.4-3.5 seconds

also, you can see the markers for the 330 foot, and the 1/8 trap zone, so we can figure out pretty easily what the car ran.

That particular run was (approximately)

330’ 4.7 (on pace for around 11.3 seconds)
1/8 mile 7.25 (on pace for around 11.1-11.3)

You can also see he goes through the 1/8 trap markers in about 0.45 seconds. THat’s 66 feet in 0.45 seconds. Some quick math means that’s 1/80th of a mile in 0.45 seconds…aka 1 mile in 36 seconds. AKA 100 mph (1hr = 3600 seconds).

So they are running 7.25 @ 100 mph…which means 11.25 @ 127.5 MPH

Nice try hiding that JHM

How did you verify this? If you didn’t [quote]open it in Sony Vegas

and count frame rates then it’s all hearsay.

Or just wait for some time slips…

Any footage from last night Jake? Looks like you guys had a pretty good turn out!

We got a ton of footage! Stay tuned for it.

Come on we need 10s JHM. At least a 10.7-10.8 to match Dan’s RS4 that did it a few years ago.

and count frame rates then it’s all hearsay.

LOL Euro.

Damn. Great analysis. I was going off counting in my head. It’s also really hard to tell when to start counting as the car begins moving before you hear the clutch bang.

We won’t hold our breath Jake…

You can use a stopwatch.

See the yellow stage lights on Jason’s side? When they go dark, the clocks start.
