I took mine off with the engine in the car you will need to remove the throttle body
I left my SAI system in with the JHM headers.
I presume there are no issues with this?
I wasn’t told I needed to physically remove it.
That is good news if I can do it from the top by just removing the throttle body’s and a few hoses👍
I also have an inspection camera I could use so I can see what I’m doing if I can get it in the right position ?
Thanks for this i really appreciate it
Thats great news thank you for letting me know.
Did you have any issues doing it this way at all ? Any tips you can give me to make it as easy as it can be ?
Thanks in advance
Yah it’s fine to leave it in
Thanks!
As it was stated with a small amount of parts removed from the upper half of the motor you can just squeeze your hands in there and remove the units with not too much hassle. After you remove the SAI from each head there is a lot more room to then put on the block off plates.
Do you need to remove the SAI. No. Should you. Well… if your putting catless pipes on the car and your dropping the motor it would be best. Not only is it nice to get a few extra lines and parts out of the way to clean up the engine bay. It gives a good piece of mind that you never have to worry about the SAI system again.
Thanks Justin,
I am Cattless now and it has also been deleted from the ECU, so like you I think it’s a good idea to remove parts that are not needed anymore then I don’t have to worry about the SAI anymore !
I just like to thank everybody on this forum for all the advise and support you give not just to me but everybody.
I would of never attempted half these mods on my own without the help and guidance from everybody on here so a massive THANK YOU !
You’ll be fine. Just extra weight at this point. If you guys all remove your SAI’s, I’ll have no one to sell my hose relocation kit to!
HA!
JHM should mention the physical removal of the SAI while in there, might as well have taken it out at that point with everything out.
My newest and final project is trying to get rid of the JHM exhaust reverb at 2000rpm (not drone).
Been like that since day 1, the exhaust vibrates the heat shield which vibrates inside the cabin and drives me NUTS. Worse when I took the rear seats out and worse with HEADERS as volume is 30% louder. You can hear it in most of my videos as I accelerate.
Sound goes away when opening the Windows as it depressurizes the cabin. I’ve tried refitting the exhaust system 3 times, also tried sticking foam and clothe between the heat shield and body.
I guess I COULD put those rear seats back in… LOL
Finally got around to shooting the updated POV video with the NEW more powerful v17.4 JHM Tune, JHM Race Headers, JHM Pulley, JHM LWFW AND JHM Silicone Intakes installed.
Great video buddy sounds sweeeeeet
That sounded awesome. It even sounds fast.
Thanks! It’s funny, even driving the GoPro effect is real, everything seems much slower than it feels in the car. It’s also running 4k stabilization, the acceleration in the parking lot shot my head back, but it’s so smooth on camera (I use this setting for downhill mountain bike riding).
I know that head feeling too I love it, in fact I’ve pulled of from a stand still and it’s made me feel a bit sick lol. Its never ever done that before all the mods we have done !
BuyTheWarranty, just put the seat bench back in. It weighs almost nothing and stops a ton of the noise.
Do you have the top of the rears in also?
I have the seat cushion in, but the rear back rests are gone.
BuyTheWarranty, gotcha…Same.
Curious, has anyone installed this upgrade with the high flow cats?
Thx!
