JHM Stage 1 Supercharger Dyno

So I finally got around to dynoing my car today.

Results: 421whp, 350wtq

I’m happy with the results.

First run: Fully stock, 24c ambient temp
Second run: B&B Downpipe (2.25") and Magnaflow Catback (2.5"). Nothing else, 22c ambient temp
Third run: JHM Stage 1 Supercharger, Trexturk Downpipe (2.5"), Magnaflow Catback (2.5"), JHM Intake Manifold, JHM Intake Spacers, JHM Light Weight Flywheel, winter trim, 8c ambient temp

(Not sure how to embed an AR video here. This seems like it’s just a photo with a link to the video rather than having the video embedded).

nice job documenting each step

300wtq from 2700rpm to 7000rpm must feel great

It does feel great indeed. Never feel like I really need to push it that hard

DROOL. Heavy sigh. WANT!

I need a raise…

I need a job…

Very nice! With that much whp and your current light weight mod list you should easily bring your 12.63 into the elevens!

320+ WTQ for most of the curve (3000 to 6500)
340+ WTQ from 3500 to 6500

Very fun stuff.

Good numbers man! Any videos of you going through gears?

Interested to see the pull in 6th while crusin

Hey champ. There you go. Not too bad. How many passes did you do that day 3.

150whp over stock. Not too bad. Looks like 50+ Wtq from about bang to bullets with a large opening in the peak area. The thing that sucks is we can make MUCH more Tq but that will be the end of your motor if we do. You can totally see the throttle shutting at 5700 from there the blower just muscles past it.

And of course big props to the tuner

Yeah, that’s what I wrote in the AZ thread, that the toughest part was finding that sweet spot of good power but not too much power as the kit’s good for much more. It’s not a “wow, good job getting all that power”. It’s more “good job dialing it down to that level to ensure the engine is safe”

We did 3 runs. The first run was 398whp in 4th gear. Then he realized all the previous baseline runs were done in 3rd, not 4th, so he did another one. The second was 410whp in 3rd but I had a towel between the ice and the manifold and when we touched the manifold, the towel was seriously hindering the cooling effect of the ice. I therefore took the towel off which made a considerable difference as the 3rd run made 421whp.
That’s why I didn’t post the first 2 runs as I didn’t feel they were indicative.

Shame the track’s closed for the season. We’ll have to wait for the spring now.

The nice thing about all that torque is that I rarely feel the need to punch it all the way to redline. I’ll see if I can get a 100-145kph 6th gear pull for MaDDoG3xx8. Getting a video of going through the gears is tough when I have to hold the steering wheel and shift gears at the same time. Would need an extra hand to hold the camera. Maybe if I hold it with my mouth lol.

axel impressivbe if I looked at the time on the dyno sheets correctly that looks like you did almost 3 passes in say 15 min or less. that right there shows how much better the c-fuge style blower is. If you had a roots type the more apsses you got the hotter and less power you would be putting out. Ice on the intake or not.

great stuff. I agree too its way more then just a big hp jump. in the larger pictrue you need to look at the fact that its tuned to give you a smile but to keep the alreay prone to break motors in check. I don’t even know why jhm did all that work i would have thought it would have been a disaster with these motors being made out of plastic and all.

great stuff great stuff real good for you.

410/349
421/350 is pretty much limited difference, so I wouldn’t try too hard to extrapolate any towel or ice relationship

average those two out and you’re at 415.5/349.5 peak values, which sounds just about right.

Would be cool to see those to runs overlaid on top of each other. Not sure how flexible these dyno guys are with the graphs and outputs.

I could email them I guess. I took a look at the last second of the video and the two lines are pretty much overlapping each other as the difference is so small as you pointed out. Not sure it’s worth asking them to send me a new jpg with just those two runs. It just looks like a thicker line hehe.

In the end, I’m not the tuner and I’m not going to use these dynos as a means to tweak the tune lol. I was just curious what numbers it would hit. That curiosity has been answered and I’m moving on.

Now if CountVohn asked me for that info to actually use it, that’d be a different matter. However, I’m pretty sure he’s not surprised by the outcome and has probably seen near identical dynos from previous cars so I don’t think it’s something he really needs.

I’m happy with the results, helped the community see how easy the JHM sc makes power and now it’s time for me to get back to looking for a job

Axel thanks for using the site to host your video. If there are no objections I would love to reward you for using the site by putting your video on the home page

You can tape your phone to the wheel maybe. Sounds crazy but it would work. Or get a gorilla pod and make it work.

Go ahead, it’s public and no need to ask permission
Thanks for running this site!

That would work, 3m double sided tape? or zip ties!
