JHM Stage 1 Supercharger Dyno

Could always give it a shot. That said, anyone know where I could find a straight road long enough to get some good speed from a stand-still and ensure there are no cops around? Not easy to find.

Go on highway from one exit to another scanning for cops
exit, and go back the other way scanning for cops
get back on again and rip the fuck out of it.

Takes them a good 4-5 minutes to setup radar. Just make sure when you get on you’re not right beside or in front of a copper roilling along.

Nice dyno there and congrats as others have said. I wish I could find an AWD less than 3-4hours away, but they just exist down here in the land of RWD only cars lol. But just as you said, I’m pretty sure JHM & the count could tell you the exact power your car is making without ever seeing the dyno as it comes back to the tune itself and dialing it back down to be in the sweet spot.

If you have access to a GoPro and a mount, i was able to do it perfectly by mounting it to the windshield and then flipping it upside down between the steering wheel and dash. The GoPro has a setting for the video to be inverted, and then just hit record and punch it. I did this when I was doing videos for the LA back in the day and that worked very well.

Still, that would require me to be stopped on an on-ramp to get a proper 0- run. Not a huge fan of doing that unless it’s maybe 3am in a residential area.

I think I have a good enough camera setup. Just a matter of finding a spot. That small dead end street near your place saki could be an option no? Then we could do a pbox as well.

Sure thing, it’s pretty good. Can’t hit 1/4 mile though. Well…you can, but your wheels will all have vicious bends when you go through the curb at the dead end lol.

Yeah, didn’t expect 1/4 mile. More like top of 3rd.

Good stuff Axel. Love the TQ “curve” :o

whenever you want to let me know

As requested. Not great quality and super short video (110-150kph which is about 68-93mph) in 6th gear.

That took my breath away!

Does anyone have a solid number for drivetrain loss on the S4? Are we talking 25-30%? If so Axel is right around 600 CHP, which is very impressive.

I’m guessing it’s closer to 20-25%. My stock run was 270whp (divided by 0.8 = 337chp which is closer to the stock rated chp) which would be 20%.

high teens to 20% sounds right

Ya I would say high teens as well, but really matters is what goes down on the road.

Did you assess carbon build-up before/after the install?

Axel’s S4 has an MPI engine rather than FSI, so I thought carbon isn’t a problem?

Its much worse with the FSI, but there are some cases of carbon build in the b6/7 S4s

Sorry I meant carbon isn’t a problem at all with the BHF V8 (MPI).

not really an issue

What about this ?

Interesting. Didn’t know that. Thanks for linking. jbones posted in that thread: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/398388-s4-carbon-buildup-with-picture-advice?p=5906495&viewfull=1#post5906495
