JHM, TCU and ECU - DK

So in a couple of threads I’ve asked about the JHM tune and the works of it.
I might even have been a bit skeptical.

Now I have the JHM tune(s).
TCU tune and ECU tune (performance 2, stage 1) and … wow. Just wow.

TCU tune is insanely nice.
Slow driving and the car is just the same. Nothing new, smooth and nice shifts.
Flooring the pedal and it just changes to a completely different mode. Hard, direct and fast shifts! Just like the Gallardo from the 00’s. It shoots you forward!

ECU tune changes the motor from being in a sort of sleepy or dull state to being awake and on edge! Also changes the sound of the car!
And it also feels like the car would continue to just pull and going on the highway i need to control myself because the pulling and gearshifts af full throttle is intoxicating!
Next thing is SAI and CAT delete.

I’ve tuned the TCU and ECU via the new “TCU” cable, beta testing the program.
And the GUI and ease of use took me by surprise. Great work!

As some of you guys know I’m located in Denmark, and if there is any Danes out there that would like to feel the difference, feel free to contact me, before going with another (maybe local) tuner.

Other than the tune the car also has new plugs and coils, walnut blasted intake valves, JHM spacers and isolated underbelly of the IM and a gutted IM (new IM is on the list).

I’m gonna drive by for a visit as soon as the borders open up!

Is it necessary to buy that cable?
Isn’t it possible with the original VCDS or the original ABRITES interfaces?

Would like to do some “V10-spark-dæk” in the new year  :grinning:

Looking forward to it!

Yes, the VCDS cable can’t be used. But when the ecu tune program comes out of beta for this cable, you can stop by and borrow mine. :slightly_smiling_face:

Where are you located?

Great review. Thanks for letting everyone know. The trend for some is the a custom tune is going to be a great thing… and Thats not the case in a lot of these situations. The fact that JHM has years and years of experience with this car shows in the tune.

It’s hard to do better than a company that has an inhouse car that has been testing and testing for years making their product as good as it can be. Then testing that all over the world. It’s not just a good tune it’s a proven tune.

Thanks again Kimovitzh for helping give your thoughts to others. Its also helpful for another EU guy to let others know you don’t need a custom or local tuner to get great results.

Fredericia area… and thanks… will probably get back to you on that :+1:

I’m sorry, but did you by any chance buy a Audi Cabriolet from 1991 in 2016?

Yes in fact I did and I still love that car although it has been sitting in our garage for over 1 year now. After the best summer holiday you can imagine in 2019 driving the CAB through Germany, Austria, Croatia and Italy (more than 4000km OpenAir) it has to undergo some major repairs. The mountains and the hairpin curves took it’s toe on the car  … it’s after all an old “Lady” but we will get her fit again :+1:

Sorry OT… got carried away

my parents also had an audi 80 cabrio with te 2.3 engine…
great car that was

Huh… almost starting a religious war there   it’s NOT called Audi 80 in any context … it’s named Audi Cabriolet and that’s what we want to hear  :innocent: just kidding  … or am I

Edit: mine is also 2.3 NG (half V10)… what a sound

You bought that car from me
You picked it up on Fyn and I’ve only had it for one season, the worst cab season here.

Glad that you still have it, I miss it every time the sun is out!

And … you now also has a S6 V10? I think that our car taste is aligned :joy:

i was to small to remember, all I just remember that around 4000? rpm a second intake valve opened and the engine sound completely switched…
and that for that time i tought it was a BEAST :innocent:

Sooo true… only the 5-cyl. 2.3 can sing like that

Also true… only Audi for me :sunglasses: the wife drives an Audi A3 Sportback 1.4tfsi :+1:

 and that is what we had when you bought the Audi Cab from us, just in the 2.0 TDI format.

Crazy  and we meet again in a forum in the US
You should check out https://www.audiclub.dk/ as far as I know we are 3 guys with S6 V10

Well, i know that we at least have five Danes on this site with the s6 v10, so this must be the biggest site for the s6 v10 in Denmark

I agree, this is what drives and motivate to find the extra juice that this machine can deliver.

I could not agree more on both the tcu and ecu tune. I am catless and the catless tune is great! Can definitely feel the difference and it goes from feeling like a heavy car to not feeling that way.

To add on to the tcu tune I had the performance 1 tcu tune for about a year now and it is crazy the difference just the tcu tune makes. I recently got a new tune put on that has a feature I was told I could spread word about and it is stall control. If you’re looking for something to help the car get off the line and not feel like a truck this is it. The launch is harder and smoother through the power band you can’t feel any lose of power in the lower rpms. I want to get to a track as soon as there is some warmer weather again and see just how much of a difference it made in the 60 ft. Time. They said it should be sometime next year that they have it up for sale but when it officially is released THIS IS SOMETHING TO LOOK INTO!

I have been running a custom ECU and TCU tune with the custom manifold and exhaust for the last three years. The car is a beast! Highly recommend getting the manifolds and exhaust.
