JHM, TCU and ECU - DK

What’s the custom intake manifold?

Do you mean the updated intake manifold with updated internals or do you mean the headers?

Ah you’re right he probably means the exhaust manifolds/headers.

The exhaust manifolds/headers.

Headers are a big win. If you can’t go headers pull out the cats. But either way make sure you have a good intake manifold. That is going to be one of the single best supporting mods to anything you do.

So, I don’t have a draggy yet.
And drag strips is not a thing here in Denmark.

So as a reference I’ve used the VCDS drag measurement.
The numbers are not to be used against a draggy or a time slip, as the speed in km/h is a bit off.

But! It’s a reference for my car.

This readout is my car stuck and with gutted IM.

This is after an JHM ECU and TCU tune.

Today the SAI has been removed and CATs are going next!

For not having the intake flaps that’s not too bad. Generally the intake flaps should help pick up anywhere from .2 to .4 as it really helps that down low out of the stop acceleration. Either way great data.

Even for as limited as the vag 1/4 data is that’s a pick up of half a second and over 5mph. Also a decent pick up 0-60

I would guess stock 0-100 should be faster then 6.0sec no?
Anyway the improvement is clear.
Does the Sai delete improve power? Or is it just for the smoother cold starts?

i just noticed you got the JHM ECU/TCU tune with a gutted IM. I’ve got the same, with the IM recently patched to “closed” position. Now I’m only a P0023 away from considering the JHM tunes.

It’s good to know that the tunes deliver good results on a gutted IM. Will you eventually pay to switch to a new IM, or are you satisfied with the current results (+/- a few more inexpensive mods)?

0-100 stock is more hampered by your not having the low end part of your power band.

The SAI is more cold start smoother idle cold and general warm up improvements.

OK so the cold start doesn’t bother me therefore I think I don’t see any use in the SAI delete…

The 6.0 second 0-100 wasn’t my car I’ve never measured… But since my IM is in a fully functioning condition I can expect a faster time :+1:
I know they are no sprinters after all

Yes sorry I didn’t mean you as you personally. It’s more of just how I speak. The general term you us them. Sorry. But yes the lower times are going to be from a fully functional system.

Just keep in mind. The times shown on the VCDS is not comparable to anything other than a reference between mods.

The 0-100 is therefore not directly a true 0-100. Because the speed in VCDS is not accurate, just like your speedometer is not 100% accurate.

I’ve ordered a Dragy, and when it arrives then we can trust the measurements and compare them between cars.

If autodoc has the same good Black Friday deal on the updated IM in 2021, I just might buy it.
So yes, I guess.

Being in the EU I would think the intake would be not too bad? If not the currency exchange with the US should help make for a good discount???

Untill you have to pay import taxes :man_shrugging::man_shrugging:

Just say it’s warranty return. that is what I was doing.

Just received the Dragy aaaaaaand we have the first snow in over a year.

So i had som time today to get my drag numbers.
Snow is gone here but it was raining a little.

Do you still have the cats in. That is not too bad for a car without a fully working intake. Sold runs.
