Just ordered 18x9 Nuespeed wheels and JHM LW Rotors...

Pete,

Did you say Atco opens February 22nd?

I just called St. Thomas and they don’t open till April 1st!

April 26th weather permitting for the nearest to me (Castrol Raceway Edmonton)

the NY area tracks are always open by end of Feb. It’s annoying how we have to wait to April. 2 years ago we did a big group on April 6 2012 which was opening day.

There’s much better weather down there this time of year, the big gtg I started a couple years ago was the first weekend ATCO opened at the end of feb. It was freakishly near freezing there, but still open.

I meant to write 23rd but it’s ok they can keep the sticker on a week after I run

Pete that’s awesome

There’s a record for a cosmetically facelifted platform update? That’s…lame.

APR will frame that photo…because it shows that they’re kicking the shit out of GIAC.

I found that very humorous. Fun competition

I’d agree with you… but gearing man, gearing.

I get it but the gearing difference is nominal. It’s not like the car is missing 2 and 3 and is forced to shift into 4th at 800 rpm. The gearing might affect Et a sliver but people are really putting too much stock in it.

As an example the modified cars are running near identical times to pre facelift cars. There’s just a smaller facelift sample size so it’s not as fleshed out. If we took the first 20 1/4 mile times from pre facelift guys, 12.0-12.2 would be ‘world record’ territory. We have only seen about half a dozen facelifted cars run, and they are doing just fine.

PS isn’t the gearing really only changed on the DSG cars? Auditude drives a manual.

That white S4 that is claimed to be the “fastest B8.5” is a DSG… so yeah. Not sure about the manuals.

I’m hoping that Pete can beat that record… or the overall record for that matter.

The manual gearing is the same 1-3 but 4th is a longer and 5th as well. Not sure about 6th…

4th on the B8 was 130.4mph with 255/35/19 and the B8.5 with the same tires was 144mph

Good luck Pete.

I don’t think that’s going to be a big change. You’re well into the powerband when you shift into 4th.

Interesting they geared it so big though. What’s 6th like…can you cruise at 2200 RPM at least? Or are you stuck at 3400 at 80 MPH?

I’m def under 3k at 80- iirc I think like ~2700.

“Worlds Fastest B8.5 on a Tuesday”

Funny stuff.

Hey Pete, what day are you planning on hitting the track? Are you going to ATCO or Englishtown?
