let me introduce myself with a question?

I think he just paid someone to do it. He may not know what’s really involved.

Kryptonik did it. You can reach him on all three sites.

Hmm… Who else did this. Koolade? Or does he have some race seats…

Zmon did it

That guy in southern california…black car who always gets the ugliest wheels he can find so that he’s different… What’s his name? I think he has them too.

A few around. Not many.

Staz did it on AZ (he is the one trying to sell the set) but I am not sure he ever did anything about the light. The only way I have seen it done is putting a pressure plate in or wiring up a resister (which seems easiest in this case).

What’s he asking for them?

9k + shipping

Guess he paid that and hopes to get what he paid back. Not likely

$5000 tops, no?

yea thats for a race mesh set with the door cards and rear seats, still seems pretty high though.

i got OEM RS4 recaro’s, rear bench, door cards, gear cover, center console, ebrake handle wrapped by luke shipped landed with duties and customs for less then that.

saki, 5k? 6k? obo probably would get alot more hits, or people putting interest towards them.

Ordered a couple 02 sensors, but also having some codes pop up from the seats, and wanted to see if we had any vagcom guru’s over here?

Codes:
4 Faults Found:

00591 - Seat Belt Switch; Driver (E24)
007 - Short to Ground - MIL ON
00592 - Seat Belt Switch; Passenger (E25)
010 - Open or Short to Plus - MIL ON
01579 - Signal for Seat Occupied Sensor; Front Passenger Side (G128)
010 - Open or Short to Plus - MIL ON
01213 - Belt Tensioner Igniter; Rear Middle (N198)
001 - Upper Limit Exceeded - MIL ON

3 of the 4 issues are fairly easy to fix, would just be me swapping the buckles over from the stock set. The other fault is for a pressure plate/switch, after some research, and talking with Luke@plushautomotive, I’ve found that the bucket seats never came with pressure plates/switch and that the car is actually coded differently in Europe to take the airbag sensor from the belt input, rather then having weight on the seat.

I still need to pull the codes from my car, as I just found this info last night, but coding on my car is more then likely 0433627. From the list above, if I change the values from 0xx3xx7, to 0xx1xx2. This would tell the car it’s now looking for eurospec, and to not use the airbag signal from the pressure switch, rather get the input from the belt buckle. Also by putting the car into RoW, rather then North America/Canada, that would technically get rid of rear ignitor light? This is all theory in my head, but wanted to see if there are any vag-com guru’s that could lend a hand! Going to hook up the com this weekend and play with the coding before I yank the seats to swap the buckles over.

Many thanks in advance!

Start a thread on rs246 maybe. Those guys switch the seats a lot over there.
There’s maybe 6 guys with those seats in all of the US…and there are probably 60 on rs246 who have done the swap.

Theoretically yes but vagcom does not always like to take those codes. FT has euro seats, maybe he would be helpful. I guess you could also just put in a resister to trick the car right?

I was thinking about that, although most of the info I did find was from digging through rs246, SRS, and Edition38, just wanted to see if anyone has played with vagcom enough to know, if it would take to the change in settings. I’ll play with it this weekend and worst case start a thread over there.

See thats what i was thinking, I did get in touch with FT, and to be honest he wasn’t to much help, he told me what I had already known with the swap, as for his setup he swapped stock buckles over, and had the pressure plate swapped to the seats when he had the Recaro’s wrapped, he just referenced Nicks car blog, and to work through the codes in vagcom, he also told me to pull the covers back and to check for plates, but on the buckets its quite a bit of work to actually be able to pull the bottom covers up. not to sure if he realizes that? you actualy have to take the backs off and almost strip the whole seat down to get them off.
I still appreciate the info he did give, just unfortunately it didn’t help me out.
as for a resistor, that is an option but i would have no idea of what resistance to put in?
