Thanks! I think it actually has more in it hopefully I get to try this or next weekend… This weekend is looking like rain and next weekend is the last weekend I can run around here…

Justin, no worries man! Car is running very good and doing what it supposed to do, go fast! lol Like I said I’ll do a full post after the season is done…

Excited to hear how everything turned out.
followed by several botched shifts no doubt
I have no idea why you haven’t ditched that piece of shit TCU. The 3.0T B8 world has flown past your car. It used to be the fastest, comfortably. Now it’s just struggling to change gears without ruining an acceleration run. Strange that you bother.
case in point…
Actually, I’m quite happy with how the car is shifting now. Ironically, the case in point video you linked is the same pass I’ve posted the launch and first half of the pass… I haven’t ditched the TCU tune because I committed to APR to help them get it right and now that it doesn’t hangup the gear changes are faster than other TCU tunes or stock. This is not my opinion this is based on data. The car spends less time between gears and remains at full boost and timing, which all can be seen and measured in data logs. You’re free to believe what you want though…
Interesting that “The 3.0T B8 world has flown past your car.”, I must have missed something? Indeed it’s gotten more competitive and I’m glad that’s the case as I enjoy the friendly rivarly with the Jeff’s, Loe’s, Pete’s, etc. It’s also good for the platform and pushes all the tuners to consistenly update and improve their tunes and bring additional hardware to the platform. Finally, I bother because I enjoy the entire process and ultimately seeing the car go faster…
yet your car is not going faster
you seem to be attributing your gains to the TCU…which is funny because nobody forgets you went double pulley a year or so ago around the same time. That’s the source of your gains.
Ever since you installed the TCU, your car has made no progress. None. It’s sad that APR has been selling as ‘ready’ not ‘in the development process’ to poor guys who actually paid hard earned money for it not to work.
Hey that was a nice launch you posted. Is that using launch control? Something that before you joined APR’s development staff, you denounced as useless because your smash and go method was faster.
Anyway, enjoy. A little more transparency would go a long way. Posting half clips and tricky videos with no times while promoting this non-working TCU is just weird. Fortunately plenty of other guys have publicly and privately stated the APR TCU is dogshit and have moved on. Unfortunately they were led to believe this was a working, finished product.
Yes, the car is faster in trap speed, et and 60ft… I attribute it to ecu tuning improvements, tcu tune improvements, and some new mods. When the season is done I’ll disclose all of my results.
I never stated my gains were all attributed to the tcu but based on 350 or so passes I’ve made over the years and 100’s of logs I’ve seen from my car and others yes I think it is helping now, exactly how much I’m not sure as there are too many variables at play and I don’t have the ability to make changes at the track.
Previously, yes the tcu tune was probably hurting or at best not helping the car’s et or speed. That has changed and I think others will be happy when APR updates them…
No, I DON’T use LC it’s disabled at my request and is an option for anyone who purchases the APR tcu tune. I launch off idle and have proven time and again that’s as good or better than any launch control on this car. On my Porsche LC is FAR superior to any other way of launching. On my TTRS 5500 dumps have proven best… lol
Come on man you know I don’t work for APR… I’m a beta tester nothing more nothing less. I’ve paid for all my parts including the tcu tune. Do they make changes for me, sure they want my car and all the cars they tune to perform and hopefully their efforts and my testing and feedback help provide that. It’s no different than Jeff working with GIAC, Loe working with GIAC, Muneeb working with GIAC, Tom working with EPL, or Cory working with EPL. Let me guess JHM doens’t use any beta testers?
Transparancy? Really? I’m not here to sell any tcu tunes APR can do that on their own. Tricky videos? lol Nothing “tricky” about either of those vids yes I cut the one short to NOT show my ET. I’ll post all my results when I see fit. You don’t have to watch or read my vids/posts it’s your choice. Heck I’m getting bashed on vendorzine for posting them on “your” site… lol
I really don’t want to debate with you as I don’t think you’ll get my perspective so I probably won’t post anymore replies until I’m ready to share all the results. Sorry, if I’ve upset you as that isn’t my intent. Thought people would like to see a preview of how the car is performing since APR has been tight lipped on information. Nothing more nothing less… Have a nice weekend bud!
you sound confused about who owns the site
maybe go re-read some of the older threads about the site’s origin
Waiting on a few questions to be answered but probably ordering a set of these next week… Going to reach out to Cobb and hopefully they’ll tweak the tune to accomadate… I think these will have a much bigger impact on the 3.6TT motor vs my 3.0 SC motor… I’ll get them installed in late March and hit the track in early April. Love testing new parts and should have these and some stuff for the S4!
