Low Mileage Audi S6 2007 Restoration Project

Hi all,

I recently bought this car at 114k miles and it definitely isn’t perfect. I want to restore this car because I’m a huge fan of restoration projects. I want to see this car shine again. Obviously I know this will be a big money investment so parts and links

The problems I have so far that I know of:

The Mechanical

Shifter Replacement needed, shifter doesn’t go into Sport mode, has issues recognizing if when it’s in park. I fortunately have the whole assembly and I’m waiting to replace it.

Front and Back Struts are blown. I would appreciate a link to good replacements that give either oem performance or better.

Pretty sure I have a blown cat on the driver’s side but this will be one of the last things I replace because of how expensive it is and how rare it is. I get the code p3221 from the downstream O2 sensor. I will appreciate any advice on how to get that pesky CEL off my dash !! P.S. if anyone has done the fouler trick let me know if it worked!

Another thing I see is that the car has an issue where the parking brake has a beep come up that says that there has been a parking brake malfunction. This only happens when the car is travel over 10mph so I feel like it’s a fuse or relay somewhere.

And lastly the car has an intermittent brake fault warning even though brakes work very well. It happens very randomly and sometimes pops up in the middle of driving. Any advice or pointers would be helpful.

Cosmetic

This poor car also in an accident where the driver had a flat on the highway and hit the median barrier. It scraped the side of the car and although it looks rough, I can tell it didn’t hit the frame. It luckily only scraped the wheels and some of the fender/side skirts. I would appreciate any body techs here that can help me out and get the scratches looking better.

I write this to sort of have a roadmap of getting this car back to its former glory.

Hopefully this thread can also serve as a good reference for more up to date parts/links for others who may encounter these issues as well.

I will be adding photos on a separate post
