Price: Is important. You have to charge enough to be able to cover your basics costs, and amortize the tooling back in the amount of sales you forecast. Its a balance. But keeping low overhead costs, while trying to offer a great product to the enthusiasts is important as understanding the system, and a goal to reach. You can’t build a kit and charge more for it, than the car is worth, if your goal is to serve the community. These kits all cost a significant amount of money.
Appearance:
It’s got to look the part. Stealth, Bling, Quality… Its got to look like the purpose it serves. People aren’t dumb ( most enthusiasts hopefully ) and people want to see the craftsmanship and work involved. Even the stock RS4 motor has exposed and crafted details. The design is not what people are buying in the end. But if looks more than a bucket of bolts, it helps.
Scalability:
No one talks about this. Companies don’t even say what charger they are using, or how hard they are driving it.
Charger, Size, Speed, gearing… Do you want your hardware only one way? Can you or will your tuner help you change things as you want to take the kit further ?
The Stock RS4 Crank Pulley is ~ 200mm. Why does not one share how things are being operated.
