There are now 4 supercharger kits from 4 companies that are strong enough to have you run low 11s@125 on pump gas and around 11 flat @ 130 on race gas. Why on earth would you want to reinvent the wheel with turbos at this point? We know the following :
It will be nearly impossible to do
It will still cost as much as the best blower kit, yet it will still take forever.
The only guys who can tune it are selling 15 thousand dollar supercharger kits already so they’re not bothering.
You’ll run into the same engine limitations as the superchargers
You’ll introduce lag and crazy heat and complications and your car will sound worse and all for what? So you can say “i turbo’d my shit!”?
It’s usually because these threads are from people who think like b5 guys. They want a high school build, single chinese turbo for 1100 bucks and think they can do everything else (fabrication, tuning, fueling, cooling) and make crazy power for 5 grand all in. I don’t think that describes badblue but can’t figure out why he started that.
Turbo rs4 will cost $15,000 just like the blowers, but it will be worse . That’s the tenth turbo kit sold. To be first? It will cost you much more AND 2 years of your rs4’s life.
