well the truth is, someone who gets an APR tune is just an APR customer, and that’s fine. If they want to say fuck you and APR is better than JHM, they’ll get beat down. Otherwise, people might just be confused as to why they spent money on what the forum (as a group of 100s of users) have told everyone via threads and surveys, is a weaker product. At the end of the day, those guys (who buy what they want and go about their business) are left alone.
The guys who get gangraped are the people who are paid by these companies to promote the tunes on the forums (there was one recently) without disclosing the fact. Or guys who talk shit, then go to a dyno day and dyno weaker (there was one of those recently too lol). Those guys will always be destroyed in the forums because their integrity is questionable. They also will avoid lining up with the JHM tuned cars at all costs…because this is the most irrefutable proof of what works and what doesn’t…and it is usually embarassing.
^I have no problem with the people you describe in the first part and that’s exactly the case.
The people who piss me off are: “I’m gonna go with X tune b/c there has to be something better than JHM and it’s just stupid for everyone to get the same thing. I’ll be innovative and not follow the herd like the rest of you idiots.”
And Joe, that other thread did have some great posts by Justin & Jfunk. I debated posting, but everything had been said but the time I saw it, and the facts there weren’t shifting the viewpoints of any individuals one way or the other, regardless of which side they stood on.

CampioniShop is an online only drop shipper, operating out of that strange looking little 3 bedroom house in Quebec City. That’s fine, and all the power to them for creating this online mystique…a wizard of oz like illusion until we pulled back the curtain. they don’t often use ftlb of torque in europe like we do. Usually newton metres (which I like to refer to as nanometres on forums like a moron lol)
Here’s something for you:
HP = ftlbs torque x RPM / 5252
That’s why it always crosses at 5252 RPM. HP is a calculated value, not a measured value. So when you multiply and divide by the same thing, you get 1.0. i.e. HP = Torque at 5252 for us (but not for Europeans).
Assume a straight 300 ft lb of torque from 1000-8000 RPM. Here’s the calculation
3000 RPM
HP = 300 x 3000 / 5252
HP = 171
5252 RPM
HP = 300 x 5252 / 5252
HP = 300
8000 RPM
HP = 300 x 8000 / 5252
HP = 457

the hp v torque thing is a funny one, I dont have time to write out how I see it but really neither matter all that much on their own as measured at the engine… the overlay of torque, engine speed and gearing is what matters
