I love these threads. We get to see who has done their homework, and who is a retarded kid. Once the performance chat starts, we are treated to some GOLD!
Apparently, the B7 RS4 doesn’t respond to modifications
If the B7 hasn’t had a carbon clean recently, it’s making less power than a stock S4.
Nope, my B7 RS4 had 50,000 miles of carbon and had no problems. Ran 12.75@108.36. Faster than all but 2 stock B8 S4s in history. So there’s that. If you have a vacuum leak, that gets corrected when you carbon clean, yes, the change is radical. But that has nothing to do with ccarbon. It’s a vacuum leak you can fix in 30 seconds.
Tuned, the B8 will walk an RS4…
I guess we’re not allowed to modify our RS4s? Who cares about stock vs. tuned? How about tuned vs tuned…isn’t that more relevant?
Oh wait…apparently the RS4 doesn’t respond to modifications. Good to see the B8 S4 section is still COMPLETELY fucking ignorant of reality
Power: NA V8 with 420 HP & 318 lb-ft with 5% upside vs. FI V6 with 333 HP and 325 lb-ft with 25+% upside possible with basically no work.
Let’s pretend those numbers are accurate.
- 5% upside on the RS4? really? Hmmm…last time I checked, tune + exhaust = about 30-40 whp and wtq…aka 10-15 over stock%
- 25% upside on the B8 S4… 333x1.25 = 416 hp lol. Remind me why that is better again? He’s just dumb and making up numbers of course but it’s funny to watch.
- ‘basically no work’. Sorry, where is he getting this from? Is it more work to install an RS4 tune than a B8 S4 tune? It’s the opposite. I can tune my RS4 at my house. Using my laptop. Thanks JHM. B8 S4? Your ECU needs to be in the hands of the tuners…comes out, gets ‘modified’, gets put back. Is installing an exhaust easier on the B8? Nope. RS4 is easier thanks to the headers. Want the cats off your B8? Good luck.
Nevermind the performance stuff.
Stock RS4 record - 12.75 @ 108.36
bolt ons record 12.21 @ 113.5
basic JHM 1 supercharged record 11.62 @ 118 MPH
JHM stage 2 record 10.9 @ 129 MPH
Those are all on pump gas FYI, in daily driver form, just rolling in off the street. The B8 guys are clueless. It’s comical.
