lulz on other forums (current, not classics)

had no idea you could do that. Ill try it next time. Thanks!

It has been quite a thread on both the B8 and B7 forums. The B8 one is obviously way more painful to read. I don’t understand a lot of those guys arguments like has been already noted. They say tuned vs. stock as non of us would imagine to modify our cars. The exclusivity alone (well plus a V8 and beautiful curves) makes our the clear choice.

Yeah, I won’t get in trouble for posting this here…just AZ

not only that but its a motortrend way of comparison. Motortrend will compare two cars in teh quarter mile, or dyno, and tell you this car is .1 seconds faster than this car to 60 mph, and it does 4 mph faster in the quarter mile, it also has 20 extra horsepower…this car is clearly the winner…And you are left thinking…what the fuck? so drivability, comfort, engagement, nothing else matters, all that matters is .1 seconds. I feel like we drive our cars more often than we race them. you’re going to want something that you feel comfortable in, that you can drive every day and be happy in, its way more important than going .1seconds faster.

Check the thread for smog readiness. Someone on AZ blasted Flyingfuckface. Pretty funny. http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/600103-I-had-the-APR-Supercharged-(TVS1320)-installed-Smog-Check-REJECTED!

and it goes right to it when people click your link.

Nice tip Saki.

Flow Tech really nailed Flying Tomatoes in that post. FT vs FT

pump gas?

no offense, but that’s the same kind of thing. You’re saying it’s hands down the B7 RS4 because that’s your opinion (which I shared when I bought mine)…but reality is they’re both excellent cars. Very different.

Shitting on one of them is silly (you’re not…but the B8 guys are doing lots of that…as are lots of B7 RS4 guys , calling the B8 ugly, soul-less and boring and A4 s-line in that thread). Putting one on a pedestal is also silly. They’re just cars.

Frankly for me, I want a cool sounding car because the sound it makes is a big part of the experience. I want a rare car, and I want a blistered RS because to me it’s just way more interesting. From the other point of view, the B8 is fantastic out of the box, is more up to date, and has done great things with modifications (as has the RS4 as we all know here).

It’s really a ‘what do you like better’ situation more than anything…neither one is a bad choice.

I just don’t get the fucking ignorance. Marcus you’re a great example (not you…but their ignorance of what your car achieved). Your car beat every B8 S4 on earth…and you would do it on pump gas while they fuck with race gas cannisters and alcohol and frantically try push the living shit out of their car’s parameters to keep up. But it seems like almost NONE of them know that. Your modlist is an $7995 supercharger kit, a lw flywheel and catless downpipes…and your car is ‘unmoddable’??

Want to push the envelope with stage 1? Let’s talk about what Dan’s car did with a full compliment of LW mods and full exhaust with some good octane…he was trapping 122-123 STAGE 1. Yes, stage 1. Even trapped 125 on one pass with a bad launch. He put some good gas in the car on a pump tune. No parameter changes…just add some octane.

How about mistro? He went 12.21 @ 113.5 with bolt on mods, again on pump. The unmoddable RS4 somehow managed to pick up 6 MPH and 5 tenths over the fastest ever stock RS4 1/4 mile time. That meansit picked up around the equivalent of 50 hp in doing so. Sounds pretty moddable to me.

Fully agree. You and Mistro have pushed the envelopes of the RS4 without an SC (Definitely not trying to swell your head). It just seem ignorant to downplay a platform without further investigating what it is capable of. Newer doesn’t always equal better. Granted they have a nice new interior (questionable quality) and nice gadgets but that’s about it. It reminds me of the whole Evo X to IX argument. Some nice new additions (I owned an X BTW), but there was no way a “tuned” X could come close to a “tuned” IX as far as performance. Maybe in a few years. The same amount for a new B8 S4 or a used (hopefully meticulously maintained) RS4+mods. I understand personal choice, but the performance aspect that they the B8 S4 guys had, is ridiculous. And the audacity to call it an A4 which a ghetto body kit, really??? Come on…ignorant much???

I’m not really even sure why you and Saki are discussing this. Everyone who knows the real truth knows that the A4 is the ultimate drivers car. The s4 and rs4 are just glorified versions of an already perfect car

I Second this. =] A4TW!

Truth. I parked my silver b7 rs4 next to a silver b7 a4 to get coffee. I came back to find an old lady with 3 coffees trying to get into my car lol. Didn’t know how to break it to her

ha thats awkward…excuse me…excuse me…EXCUSE ME MA’AM quit touching my door handles with your old lady fingers!!!

HAHAHA

had no idea you could do that. Ill try it next time. Thanks!

“For example, the B8 S5 has overtaken the B8 RS5 in many of the long term magazine tests for its sheer drivability in an everyday context.” ::slight_smile:

I asked for a reference…

Hahaha!!! Saw that earlier. What does “sheer drivability” even mean?? Lots of nonsense in that thread.

Yeah, the RS5 totally lacks ‘sheer driveability’… And any other no meaning marketing speak too I’m sure… :stuck_out_tongue:
