Interesting that I’m no longer #1 jhm fanboy. I’m not even top 3. Gotta step up my game.
Frankly bootleg sounds like a guy who got some shit advice.
First off he isn’t really flush with cash. He dumped his s4 because he couldn’t afford a timing chain service and admitted as much online.
Second off he bought an rs4 but bought a $21,000 to 100,000 mile one because that’s all he could afford . that’s fine but it speaks to the motivation behind finding someone to pay for his misfortune. It is also confusing because he seems to be the new rs4 elitist talking down to people who don’t own an rs4 as if it’s some prestigious club lololol.
He tuned his car and all was well for over a year and 20,000 miles.
Then his motor blew. A 9 year old rs4 with high mileage appears to have gone lean and melted a couple of pistons. The same result we’ve seen from failed injectors. Failed injectors is certainly a common problem with old rs4s.
So I get that he’s upset that his car died. We would all shit a load of bricks and be upset. The problem is he has laid blame without much evidence. He is dumb in this realm. So he listened to his mechanics.
The mechanics are pointing to his jhm tune. Again understandable. This is a variable, and it’s easy to blame it. Take your stock rs4 with just a catback to the dealer and tell them you’re having misfires and guess what…they blame the catback even though we know that’s completely impossible. Is it because mechanics are thorough investigators? No its just really easy to blame the variable. Then a confirmation bias guides their investigation if they’re asked to move forward . When you have a thesis before gathering evidence, you tend to make this mistake. When you scream your thesis from the highest mountain, you’re REALLY likely to die trying to prove it.
There is no evidence at all that supports this. I. E. If the tune was that bad and his car was otherwise healthy:
Everyone would have the same symptoms
His symptoms would have shown up before 20,000 miles and over a year.
But instead he’s suing jhm. Why? He can’t afford not to. Someone has to pay for his car and as we know it won’t be him since he can’t afford it. He has been trying to launch a civil lawsuit for the last 8 months. Still hasn’t gotten off the ground. Wonder why? He has a buddy who is giving him free legal advice so we know the frivolity of the lawsuit isn’t a concern since there isn’t a cost risk. Reality is tuning your car is 100% on you. The tuners all make you agree to terms and conditions that state they’re doing something risky that might kill your car and you have to accept that risk. He did. Now he wants to unaccept that risk.
I think I can, and I’m tempted. My worry is getting negative feedback in return. I’ve had my account for maybe 10 years and have never gotten anything but positive.
I do wanna fuck with him a bit. “and my dog ate my homework… that’s just as relevant, pay up” or “that sounds more like your brother’s problem than mine”
Reminds me of the kid on AZ that ordered JHM lightweight rotors on Sat, he got buyers remorse and emailed JHM on Sunday because he said he couldn’t afford $1300 for brakes and then he freaked when they charged him on Monday morning and wouldn’t refund him. He publicly bashed them before they even saw his email and he ended up looking like a complete fucking clown!
that guy was cancer. His reputation is garbage as a result.
In the process of coming out and admitting he’s an impulse buying moron who can’t afford fucking rotors for his formerly $50,000 car, he showed he’s a complete asshole. He’s about as much of a waste of skin as the guy who tried to crowdfund a new DSG transmission.
Frigging B8 S4 section has had some golden winners. Not that they all haven’t but the B8 section has really been stepping up their game ever since the cars got cheap lol.

The rs4 has good top end. It trapped 124, right? So no shock.
It’s faster than a…stock gtr from 2010? (because we know nothing about the GTR other than what the guy selling the rs4 kit says, and we know they have lied about almost every other detail already so they can’t be trusted).
The first few years of Gtr trapped high teens to 122. In a roll race your trap speed shines so a 124 mph capable car like the rs4 should win at higher speeds. And it did.
He claims the gtr is fully modded. No it isn’t. Full bolt on gtr traps 130-135 and never misses a shift. The rs4 would be 20 car lengths back.
From down low, where we drive our cars, even when cheating and trying to take off early the rs4 got ass raped by the gtr who put 10 quick car lengths on the rs4 on the video stuporMario tried to pretend didn’t happen. Fortunately someone else posted it.
No surprise. Shitty tuning and power delivery. Shitty 1/4 mile et already told us this months Ago. He has been to the track 5 times and his best is 11.8 at 124.
