lulz on other forums (current, not classics)

How about spraying a full can into the intake via the throttle body? That’s the only thing I would think could possibly have any ‘don’t-want-to-remove-the-intake’ type treatment methods

what would you be spraying? I don’t think any solvent is going to penetrate the buildup without some mechanical agitation. Port injectors spray hard enough that they’d get some agitation but, something coming through the TB would need to be moving with quite a head of steam to blast that shit loose.

Maybe thats an idea, pull out the spark plugs and TB/intake tract, then blast pressurized steam into the intake manifold. It would rush into the heads and agitate/soften the carbon, then leave through the spark plug holes. I’d still be concerned about the left over bits of carbon chunks doing massove damage.

Spring is only four short months away!

BG tried telling us that their induction service kit could clean off the carbon by spraying it threw the throttle body and the dealerships found out that it did very little. Then the aftermarket places like RAI and NGP tried to push it on the 2.0T guys. There was even a 2.0T guy that wandered into the RS4 section on Audizoo until he was told STFU and ran with his tail between his legs.

yeah it is a long ass shot that it does anything

Carbonator anyone?

People like this annoy the fuck out of me!!

wow this is awesome. Quattrofail living up to its nickname. Someone asks about the APR RS4 tune.

One answer: I feel no difference. Well worth it.

WHAT NOW?

Second answer: NA car needs a custom tune

WHAT NOW AGAIN???

It’s amazing how shitty the information on that site is. I love watching the freakshow. Anyone else shocked not one fast RS4 quarter mile time has come from that site (even though a dozen quattrofailers have hit the strip)?

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo193/sakimano/2012-11-22142619.png

haha…I feel no power difference, but “worth” it IMHO!!! god damn some people are so stupid and the bad thing is when you post it on the internet you can go back and read it, which is proof your an idiot.

Why waste the money on the freakin tune then? just buy an APR sticker for a few dinero and stick in on your ECU, then just claim its APR tuned to all your homies to up your baller status.

Here is a LOL to add to the list…

http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/514215-b6-s4-motor-build-forged-internals-looking-for-parts-help!

The shop owner went out of his way to stay late since there was a communication problem and the guy still wants to complain about the wait - some people. I would have told him to come back at a different time.

As always S4orgy is good for a out there idea and lack of knowledge farther down in the thread.

[QUOTE=S4orgy;8197669]It would be tough if some how say you bought one of the flat bottom steering wheels that had the paddle shifters and have a manual gear box but in order to launch all you’d have to do is hold the paddles down to use launch control like the lambos I believe, I think that would be a cool feature if any one had the flat bottom steering wheel that has paddle shifters but with no use of them in a manual car, if any one gets what I’m saying

Unfortunately I tried to help the kid out when he first started an exhaust thread and the “JHM charity give away thread”

I mentioned that he should us e v-band flanges to mate his DPs to his CB and he had no clue what they were so I PM’d him a pic of my v-band flange setup. I also have my downpipes wrapped in DEI titanium exhaust wrap. He asked me if I wrapped the downpipes to help keep the exhaust smell in the piping because I was cat-less. I honestly laughed out loud for more than 30 seconds.

ahh…the ever so rare permeable membrane exhaust

I searched on the forum (using a5oc) and I couldn’t find if this had been posted yet.
http://www.a5oc.com/forums/s5-performance-mods/24237-make-switch-apr-presents.html

[quote]As I said - the 11s claim for this mod is complete marketing and disingenuous BS and unworthy of a reputable tuner.

11.67s (assuming this figure is stock other than this mod which I highly doubt) is light years away from 11s.

Get your facts right Arin and stop polluting this forum with this BS.

Your thread on the RS5 ecu development is full of just as much sh*t.
You’ve trailled this for months now and “proudly” announce a trivial increase in bhp (which frankly is all you or any other tuner are likely to get from this NA engine without other mods). You then go on to make completely farcical claims about how you have transformed the performance of the car. More total BS. You get more difference in HP between a cold and a hot day.

All I am saying is keep your claims credible to the tuning packages you are selling. And if you are going to show tickets to support your claims, then also detail the full mods to that vehicle otherwise they are frankly meaningless.
A little respect instead of the usual APR pathetic tirade against other tuning companies out there who are also doing good work would also be a welcome courtes

Someone eventually explains what “11’s” means:

[quote]Gruffle - I don’t think APR was claiming 11.0 in the states when we say a car runs 11’s that means it’s somewhere between 11.0 - 11.9 and that was my interpretation of what Arin was claiming.

edit: some others having a laugh at the same thread: http://www.golfmk6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=49020 (post 8 on)

Right or wrong that guy dj whatever his name is has an attitude problem. Sounds like he’s trying to pimp another company’s product and is trying to prevent APR competition with his slanderous remarks.

background:

DJ had a PES M90 RS4
claimed it was awesome
I pointed out PES M90 = overhyped crap, called out PES repeatedly in the face of real results showing the fail, that the blower compressor map proves it can’t make the power PES claimed
PES brought in an engineer from Magnussen…who then AGREED WITH ME!
PES then had me banned from the site
APR joined the conversation to agree that PES was crap
DJ got owned by Keith@APR and the angry A5oc guys all rallied against Keith for being mean (and correct mind you)

So it lingers from that. He then was an MRC guy with an MRC M112 and MRC tune (from his PES kit) and then TTS MRC kit. MTC are APR 's biggest competitors in the UK.

Not sure why they are so fucking wrong about the quarter mile while reacting so angrily.

That GRUFFLE guy is a miserable old man who knows fuck all about cars and performance and has repeatedly done his best to prove this. That latest 11s thing was one of a dozen such instances. He claimed there’s no possible way the APR cars could go 11.8-11.9 @ only 116-118…saying they’d need 600 hp and would therefore trap 125-130, then ‘proved it’ by showing some RWD car quarter mile times. He’s clueless.

How about this one on AZ. These guys are using AZ which is undeniably a sponsor controlled forum to complain about the sponsor controls

I posted my feeling which were met with the usual outright blind denial that any of them may be wrong

edit: just read that APR A50c thread.

WHAT THE FUCK!???!??!!! THose guys are retarded.

Gruffle thinks that an 11 second car = one that runs EXACTLY 11.00??? Or a car that runs 10s? Is he fucking for real this dumb?

DJpesRS4 got a little off track with these comments…

1. ‘I ran faster and beat your record (referring to APR’s 11.8 @ 116 mph RS4 TVSr1320) with my PES charged RS4’
Not really you didn’t. You ran at Crail air base, a temporary dragstrip on a runway that you eventually admitted was not official, and then you said you should run at Santa Pod (IHRA certified) for any records to mean anything vs. other IHRA/NHRA cars (like APR). You never ran at Santa Pod until you got the TTS MRC supercharger (which DID kick the shit out of APR’s 11.8@ 116 by running 11.4 @ 125)

2. ‘the MRC pulley/tune B8 S4 ran 11.6 at Santa Pod’
No it didn’t. It ran 11.83, at another temporary runway event (GTI international).

saw your post there earlier (to which I agree), but didnt comment b/c that thread was brutal.

they’re all acting like children

I think Arin’s replies in that A5OC thread are hilarious - it’s like he can’t quite believe what he’s reading but will play along anyway.

are you mantis?
