lulz on other forums (current, not classics)

God has already posted a couple of times that he welcomes primetime to advertise your paddles in your signature. This forum is kind of a FUBU situation…for us by us.

Want to know why there won’t be any upset advertisers here 32spoke if someone like primetime goes out of his way to offer a cool product to fellow B8 S4 owners? because there are no advertisers here to upset. It’s a forum for people like Primetime.

Spamming the forum isn’t going to be well received…someone will get karma booted if it’s clear they’re just spamming. However if a company like APR, TTS, MRC, AWE, JHM, Kline wants to come here to talk about something they’re working on, all the power to them as well. Note that the list I just typed out is a bunch of quality companies. The companies selling a turd in a box with a pretty dyno sheet tend to get blasted in a forum like this one where there is no money driven site owner to protect them.

didn’t count. but jesus christ, man, PARAGRAPHS!!

Haha.

I came scouring for classifieds and ended up here.

First post ever here, wish it were under more reasonable circumstances, but I am certainly not here to start a fight, not going to participate in a huge amount of back and forth either.

32spoke is not me. My guess is that this is a customer of mine who emailed me this thread. So there’s misconception one that needs to be corrected.

Primetime, as adamant as you are and as convinced as you are about my involvement with your issues at Audizine it’s just not correct. I had zero idea that you were producing or selling any product on Audizine. I can’t stress this enough, I did not contact Audizine, not a moderator, not Anthony, absolutely no one concerning your shift paddles. If I did I would tell you as I have told other sellers directly on several forums that I’ve had problems with their actions in the past.

Since this is all born out of assumptions when even the Audizine staff told you had nothing to do with it and no one has said otherwise I can only try to convince you through some logic:

  1. I never saw a post or anything concerning your shift paddles. The only reason I was made aware of you having an issue with Audizine was when someone in another thread mentioned “Alex” getting you kicked off or something to that effect. I had to ask the poster what they were talking about.

  2. Your shift paddles are for the stock round S4 steering wheels. The shift paddles I resell are for flat-bottom steering wheels. Not directly competitive product.

  3. From what I was told after the fact you had a thread or a few advertising the product (maybe this isn’t correct, but I never saw anything about your paddles). I have never had a specific thread advertising shift paddles I sell as they were only offered with flat-bottom steering wheels.

  4. As you’ve stated, your shift paddles are magnitudes lower in price than the paddles I resell. Totally different price and target audience.

  5. Your paddles are metal, I believe. The paddles I resell are carbon fiber. Totally different look and feel.

  6. I have suggested your name and where to find you to several customers privately and even publicly if they want something like what you have. I do not have a competitive product to yours, material, price or fitment wise.

The conclusion you should draw finally is that there was never a reason for me to contact Audizine over your shift paddles. The product is not competitive, the target market is different and if I had known you were being hassled by Audizine about it I would have happily offered to resell them for you at a small margin.

As much as you have all of these notions about my business and me personally it just seems a bit over the top to be this bothered without a shred of evidence of my involvement. The assumption I make large profits off the community is incorrect. The assumption I complain to the Audizine staff often is incorrect. In fact I have been speaking to Audizine staff about how advertisers have run amok of the forum over the passed year or so. We do in fact have rules the govern how we post, how often, etc. There is a private forum for advertisers and staff so you can’t see my views on what is going on with Audizine, but I in fact want advertisers to stick to specific guidelines we are supposed to follow about posting because without those guidelines it makes the forum more like eBay than anything else. I’ve got the same issues with R8Talk where I also advertise, it’s become a marketplace without any guidelines to keep advertisers in check and users are leaving which doesn’t help that community or make it worthwhile to advertise there.

Audizine is very strict with it’s users about advertising and I know they’ve been involved in pushing more than a few people who are valuable off the forums because of those rules. As an advertiser who spends a reasonable amount to be able to post product I do become bothered by companies or individuals who don’t follow reasonable rules. I find myself stuck in between in some situations where people or companies that are valuable aren’t willing or allowed to work with Audizine to advertise because this pushes some smart and talented people off the forums. Personally I’ve always thought Audizine should offer a much lower cost way to advertise for users who happen to come up with a good product that isn’t available elsewhere, like a limited advertiser account to use the PM system and classifieds with a product announcement that has a limited run time. Anything that allows valuable users to stay around, because generally valuable members of the community tend to come up with solutions to problems for themselves where no solutions already exist, then they’d like to offer to other owners which is totally reasonable. The costs and requirements to be a full tilt advertiser keep these people stuck in a position where they have a product but can’t market it. The other solution is always to offer it through a company that does already advertise and please know that not all of us are margin hoarding, competition quelling, non-return policy monsters, especially small guys like myself. I help as much as I can, but yes I do need to make a living though I won’t do it at the high cost of losing valuable members of the community. I came from these communities, started on the Quattrolist at 17 years old, then to Audiworld, then I started Europrice and the whole relationship with forums unfortunately had to change, but it doesn’t mean I can’t be helpful.

All I ask from you, please take your time to critically think through what I’ve posted above and try to rethink your assumptions about what happened. You don’t have to, you can believe this is all just a way for me to save face, but if that is what I was doing I wouldn’t waste my time doing this. You aren’t a customer of mine, there aren’t people clamoring for my head on a stick because they think I hurt you, but I am doing this because I believe it’s not right to blame someone for something they didn’t do. If I had contacted Audizine about you and your shift paddles I would take your lumps and keep my mouth shut hopping it would just go away someday, however again I did not contact Audizine concerning you or your product. Hell I’ve even suggested your product to people looking for paddles on the round steering wheels publicly and privately. So again, please just take a moment to think critically about the information above, what I’ve written and what is logical about the situation.

Cheers,

^ run on paragraphs about a two year old issue that has been beaten to death over and over and over again. Really?

The above post proves AR is where its at now.

Lol I threw it into ms word. 3 page 1200 word essay :stuck_out_tongue:

Reasonable post though if it’s true, seems like Alex just wants to clear the air. Seems legit as I don’t think any of his customer base is on here.

Can’t afford him

I think ita great europrice is looking to clear the air but… it makes sence that he more over anyone would say something. I dont think you can say in one sentence that you thought it was ok for primetime to unoay advertise but its wrong when these other venders do it. Quality post just not sure all the messages add up. Maybe it was me but seems like he contradicts himself kinda…still stellar of europrice to say something

So much drama in the LBC. Me my boy Prime and the D O double G. Selling DSG paddles on the Audizine.

I’m not totally sure I understand what you are saying. I never said it was okay for anyone, including Primetime, to advertise without paying, however I do think Audizine should have a way to work with people like him to advertise and that would involve some type of payment, albeit a lot smaller than what a full tilt advertiser pays.

As for vendors on Audizine, some are out of control and a group of advertisers, including myself, have been working on getting Audizine to shape it up a bit. Having it be so advertising centric can drive users away and those are the people all of us as advertisers want to appeal to. So it’s a delicate balance for Audizine and we’ve got advertiser rules, 1 active FS post per main model forum, 48 hour bump limit, a non-compete clause, etc. Right now it seems like a quarter of the advertisers do not follow those rules. It ruins the forum, hell look at the TT and A3 sections, it’s just ads. No one who has any of those models would want to post there, it’s an eBay search result.

Either way, it’s a delicate balance also as an advertiser who cares about the community as well. I do pay to advertise, it’s how I make my living, but I don’t have any desire to push people out of the community that provide something I can’t or don’t. However if someone/another business comes to Audizine and is directly competing with me on a wide scale I would tell Audizine about it, how can I expected to pay and follow rules when others don’t? It’s much like A5OC, where I use to sponsor. They let companies advertise in their FS section, but for some reason they don’t want to stop them, yet I had to pay an ever increasing advertising fee so it wasn’t worth it for my business. Again it’s just a balance, I have to pick where to advertise, how to advertise within the rules of the forum, when to protect my business, when to just be part of the community vs. be a business owner, it’s a tough position sometimes (not asking for an ounce of pity by the way). I had no reason to protect my business against Primetime, never have and wouldn’t. That’s between him and Audizine, I’d just like to be left out of it since I had absolutely no part in it. I’d like to be square and that’s why I posted. I’m being 100% forthcoming and 100% honest.

Too much drama in the LBC…

What is LBC?

Alex, Welcome to the forum… Thanks for taking the time to explain your side… My reactions are all based on what I was told by a particular moderator on AZ so if he spread false information to me than I’ll apologize for my comments regarding you and your business… However, they specifically said you were the one complaining and since I can’t prove or disprove I took it to be accurate and it seemed logical because you were the only other person selling paddles… Going forward I will drop it and no longer vent on the forums about it since you seem sincere in your comments, which is more than I can say about the team from vendorzine and how they treated me after the fact… Again, welcome to the forum and thanks for taking the time to explain your perspective! Have a nice weekend… Ron

I purchased my TTRS steering wheel from Europrice and can’t compliment enough the level of customer service Alex provides with this part, which isn’t ready to go from the factory for a swap. I agree that the price on these steering wheels is really high but then again, so is the price on just about every part for this car. It is a totally unnecessary luxury. I am alarmed by how much the price has increased in the past couple years but I think a lot of that has to do with pricing increases from Audi.

I sure hope that people don’t dig into what appears to be a very solid note from Alex because you don’t feel he charges a fair price for the products he sells. We are all free to purchase from somewhere else and yeah, you can piece together some of these things through Ebay and what not but that places zero value on the CS and turnkey solution he provides. Its cool if thats the case…buy somewhere else and move on…

Due dilligence, please read post #1313 to find the source. two years old but brought up …when?

Saki, great point and The reason I like this forum. everyone calls out what they consider to be B.S., but sometimes the truth is somewhere between two differing versions of the same product, or event, or incident.

Frankly Alex can charge $5,000 for steering wheels if he wants. If the market will pay, have at it. Businesses rarely survive with the mantra of about being the low cost provider. I charge a fuck ton for my professional services, and there are far cheaper options out there. I don’t care. I’m offering what I offer at a premium price because it’s a premium service and the market will bear it.

Now I should also say that if I was selling a commoditized item like car parts that can be tough to charge a premium. I know I would never spend $2,000 on a euro price steering wheel. I would find an alternative. I also know I wouldn’t spend $400 on mtm spacers that Alex sells because mtm dealers here sell them for less. But I don’t think that should stop Alex from trying. I would assume he’d have no luck but sure enough people lined up for that mtm group buy. And the wheels (like typerx did).

I have never seen anyone charge less for the TTRS wheel than I have paid, and that includes Ebay auctions. FWIW, the impression that Europrice is way overpriced doesn’t appear to hold true for all products.

With that being said, MTM spacers are a perfect example of something I would never buy unless they were like $150 or so. I got my ECS ones (have worked perfectly for 3 years) for <$150 shipped with bolts. But, others will say the exact same thing about the steering wheel I got…

^^^the MTM spacers are I believe $290 from Horchaus or other MTM dealers. Alex did a group buy at like $380. People fell over themselves to buy them.

The TTRS wheels are advertised for what…$1800? Not including airbag? There are two or three guys on here who paid considerably less than that.

I got the TT-RS wheel plus airbag, badge center cover ($17), and RS4 logo ($53) for $1368. That was Jan 2010. Even then, spending that much on a “cosmetic item” really hurt. But, it really is a transformational mod – something you get to use every time you drive and boy oh boy it feels so much better.

And I was able to sell my stocker for $300 or $350…I forget. In retrospect I could have actually charged $400 or $450 for the stock wheel pretty easily.

The MTM spacers are still a head scratcher for me…especially at ~$400! I guess the bag they come is really nice!
