This whole thread isn’t a complete lulz…it’s actually decent, but this one dude that kinda annoys the shit out of me just posted that he isn’t going to the strip this weekend because his JHM tune LA doesn’t work…then he goes onto describe the LA working fine.
[quote]Looks like I’m skipping the strip this weekend. The launch control doesn’t work. ESP off, clutch down, throttle down. Revs stop at 5500. Hold throttle down and dump clutch and I get… a clutch dump. Clutch bites super hard and revs drop to 2000 and go up from there, feels like it’s going to break something. Zero wheelspin, zero clutch slip and this was on soaking wet pavement in the rain. I think if the pavement was dry it might have just stalled.

The launch assist doesn’t assume you have massive over stock width tires. It isn’t going to adapt to every situation. I once used it on a local road and it bogged badly. When I used it at the strip on the exact same setup it was perfect and I cut 1.83-1.87 60 foot times all day. It depends. You can adjust tire pressure to make it work better. Who knows… Maybe he has 255 tires sitting at 31 psi. Tough to spin that in a mildly modded B7 Avant no less.
Frustrating is actually a great way to put it. I basically gave him the same reasons you just mentioned. He seems to start a bunch of threads complaining about the progress of the platform which annoys me, he also argues or isn’t happy when he gets answers or links. He just bought the avant with 120k on it and is coming from a GTI.
Lastly, I think he considers himself a road race superstar.
Posts like that look really bad for JHM to the less educated forum members IMHO, even though he is a newb, he is complaining about one of the best beinefficientits of the JHM tune and if potential customers see comments like that it will turn into the “touchy throttle, can’t drive my car” threads of the past.
[quote=“q_dubz”]So almost a year ago i sent an email to Motodyne inquiring as to why their head porting services were SOOOO expensive for the V8…
I dont have my original statement but i KNOW it wasnt deservant of this respose:
"who’s reflahing ECU’s for ported head work on rotocast heads, aside from us,i cant think of anyone but MTM Germany maybe… 600,800 dollars is what your able to buy a tune for cylinder head work?.. well i’d like your vendors phone numbers so i can buy from them aslo?
I think your thinking of the american jew tuner shops that dyno a stock car and write software so the timing jump makes 5 horspower with good gas and then they brag on the car forums about the special ability.
SS valves
springs
retainers
7 angle valve job
5th axis cnc porting
the intake bowls are reshapes, and we add metal in the high side exhaust port,
The heads are CC’ed and coated
Schick cams are matched to power curve and Hp requirements and the proper springs are applied
aside from the 4 g r& r for material, gaskets and timing chain components to put the motor back together
the valve hardware costs more than most b6 audi’s… anything more than 500 dollars is like an audi owner heart attack, i’ll do 40 busa heads, and 20 r1 heads and then a rich UAE or European with ask for this for a v10 s8, in the 6 years i’ve done maybe a dozen pairs so the cost keeps going up…
if somebody can do your heads for 2 grand your car will either break or the mechanic is a liar and he sold you stock heads…
respectfully if you have some majic cheap way to do the work we do with rotocast heads i’d love to hear more?
now i understand your email… all your software tuners suck “revo” 034 , it’s like the n!gg3r and jew tuners"
I normally dont blast companies but this is absurd. Yes this is a 100% direct quote.

I had some PMs with this guy after a motor build discussion in the B6/7 S4 section. He is supposedly building a single turbo built BHF…lol
I’ll share a quote…
[quote]no the point is to find out just how far the block will go. I think 700whp (built) should be a good goal for right now with the highest being 900whp. I want 550whp on full stock block though. It’s all in the tune.
