2000 A6 4.2 6speed tune update
Well, things have gone from bad to worse. It started with a harness swap and ECU update. Now, the timing is way off and possibly there is a problem with one of the cam chain tensioners on the heads (although I am not sure if they are diagnosing this properly)

If there was a problem with the timing before all this, it would have thrown a code that the timing was off. I dont know if that was missed before they started tearing everything apart (I dont see how it could be), or something else went wrong along the way. At very least, it seems that these guys are in way over their heads.

I dont really know the guy who owns the car well. He PM’d me with a bunch of questions about the 6speed swap before he got into this mess. I advised him to go JHM tune, but he chose otherwise. I know one of the first requirements of JHM tune is that you have a healthy car (no engine codes in the ECU) before the tune is applied. If he had met this requirement then he would have sorted out the bigger issues before swapping out the ECU.
Yeah, regarding ddillenger, I just saw a thread on AZ today where he got banned, and then it was reversed.

Wow, I did the crank puller a couple times and I don’t see how that is even possible to do. The instruction clearly talk about the locking groove pin lining up with the block and everything else.

oooh, thats bad… I’m glad the motor stalled out and wouldnt start, it could have gone from a couple hundred $$ and a few hours to get a new crank pulley, to a few thousand for a new motor ASP supercharger kit style

I think Jason forgets that people on every audi site hate him, not just this one. He’s a fucking douchebag. It’s simple. And he’s not very succesful. I don’t really see what the big attraction is from his VERY small group of supporters (all the Stockholm Syndrome guys who have had their engines blownup at his hands)ironically.
