Made a little progress...

Well I finally got some gaskets and seals in…so re-assembly of my motor started this weekend. I’ll add some info in the morning because I’m posting on my phone right now and i will link some more photos for you guys to look at. Hopefully she’ll be up and running by next weekend.

What happened???

Bad valve stem seals in #3 and #8 cylinders…got a little head refresh…and some other goodies

I see the JHM flywheel, plus gaskets and seals = warrant removal of engine!?

Judging by the time his car has been down and this update, I think he slipping some headers in? Just a guess!

That’s the front of the motor and a JHM LWCP…I’m sure that’s what u meant. Valve seal replacement required removal of camshafts so I went a step further and pulled the heads. There is no way I’d do any of that shit with the motor in the car…to much of a pain!

Haha, no headers yet. Car got pushed to the side while I finished up my degree and remodeled our master bath. I finally have time and the weather is amazing for the track…had to get my ass in gear!

I Have a place to stay in fayetteville so might have to roll down this winter

That would be awesome man, unfortunately I might be taking a job in NY within the next month so I may not be around for long. Also, just to let you know, most of our tracks are open all year, but they won’t open their gates if it’s less than 50 degrees.

I’d really like the RS4 owner (07toy) or 07tool if you ask me, from the thread on AZ to make a trip down…haha he got on my nerves. That (cam) guy got called out too and we still haven’t seen any info on his “EASY” 12.9X run.

If I came off as a dick in your thread…I apologize, I wasn’t trying to call you out or anything and if your happy with your car than that is all that matters. The RS4 guy probably would never agree to meet up because he seems like that type of person, but maybe we can work something out and get together.

This nice little kit JHM has listed on Ebay would have been pretty good damn useful when I was getting all my part numbers together to order everything to do the valve stem seals!!

They should look into listing things like this on their site.

Thank you, haha…after this I feel that our relationship is much much more intimate.

Some update pics…I’m out of town visiting family, but I should be rolling again next week. Motor slid back in very easily so I was surprised.

looks clean!

Amazing job! Props to you for doing this on jackstands in the driveway. But you forgot to attach the headers!. Unless I can’t see them.

I always give credit to individuals who do most, or all of the work on their cars. Good luck and and take your time so that it is done right.

Well I didn’t get much accomplished yesterday because of our trip down 95 from Frederick, MD to NC…traffic is usually shitty, but it was horrendous from the time we left until the time we got home. I usually make the trip in a little over 6 hours…it took us more than 8.

Anyways I got a decent amount accomplished today. Wire harness is installed, everything is plumbed except the front radiator support. I should have her running tomorrow and I can’t even explain how excited I am to hear this sexy beast run again!!

For your viewing pleasure…and thanks for all the support and comments fellas.

Congratulations, excited for you. y u have no headers?

How long has it been down?
And congrats …almost there!

Short answer…too long, I think I pulled the motor in AUG. At the same time I got out of the Marine Corps, started a new job and was finishing up my degree. We bought a new Q5 so the S was not needed and kind of got put on the backburner. I could have done things a lot quicker, but I hate to rush shit.

I’ll put the front support on tonight after work, fill it with fluids, bleed the new slave cylinder, and hopefully have it fired up.
