Made some passes today... New best!

Debated on going today because of the rain and I had to watch my son until 11:30… I got there around noon and just started making passes with no cool down… Wanted to let the car cool but was worried it would rain at any time so I hot lapped everytime… It worked well as I managed to get 7 passes, not many people were there… The thing that sucked is street cars could only run in the left lane, and we were getting matched up with bikes and non-street cars… Anyway…

My Car: 2010 Audi S4 - DSG with sports dif, 6,015 miles, 1/4 tank of gas, tools and spare removed

Mods: APR tune, APR pulley, LFC’s, miltek non-res exhaust, custom intake, APR CPS, front and rear sways, Alu Kruez, Brembo BBK, BBS CHR’s, tire pressure 34F 30R

Conditions: 43F, 45% humidity, 30.27 BP… DA was 110… almost a perfect day around here but a little cold with no sun to heat the track…

Ran a new best! Also, all 7 passes were 11 second slips:)

Couldn’t get great traction and that was actually the best 60 of the day… Really wanted an 11.6x pass but it didn’t happen… Weather was right for it and a cool down would have helped… no biggie… I also ran 11.77, 11.84, 11.84, 11.90, 11.90, 11.91 Here is the 11.76 slip and vid… I’ll get the gopro up later… Also, will have tsivas chart out my vbox data and I vagged all the runs if anyone wants to see the logs… Questions and comments welcome… lol

funny how you keep nipping a tenth off at a time

what do you think you could do to make the car advance a tenth or more. i.e. what mods are left that you haven’t done? I don’t mean ricing it up and pulling your backseats out to run a better time…just…real mods.

Congrats on the new best. 11.76 is retarded for a 4000 lb family sedan with a modest sized V6 and supercharger. The B8 is just a freak.

bango, thanks man I appreciate it… I actually was dissappointed with the 1.67 as I have gone 1.64 and a bunch of 1.65’s but the track was a little cold and wasn’t prepped very well as there were hardly any cars so the track was trying to save on costs… That race was against a 70’s Camaro with slicks… A trailered race car… I also raced cars that went 9.8, 9.5, 10.0, 9.1, and 16.2 lol…

I wish I was nipping a tenth at a time I am on hundreths now… lol Really, thought I had an 11.6x today and with a nice cool down I think it would have happened… Just didn’t want to sit and let the car cool as I didn’t know when the rain would start… Also had more gas than I should have had…

As for mods I am still waiting on my TB that I paid for… Will be doing the lightweight rear rotors once they are available and going to buy a lightweight battery soon… I won’t be pulling anything to run faster as that is not how I operate… Not sure what else mod wise… Obviously, I am 1 or 1a on the blower upgrade with APR along with Richi… lol I could do headers but I am not sold on them being much better than the 034 HFC’s… I guess I could sell these wheels and buy lighter ones but I really like the look with these… Trust me I want more mods… lol I am going to do a couple track days with the car so I am looking forward to that… I may focus on the Mustang for drag racing as it has been neglected and is much funner being a manual… Also, debating buying a new toy since the wife has green lighted it… Just not sure what I want… Should I become the S6 1/4 mile king? lol thanks again man!

Lout, Not a big fan of the look of the A/S7… It is growing on me though…

As for the Mustang I have tons of vids but they are on my old sony camcorder that doesn’t have a download version of software that works with the new windows… that is why I bought a new Sony handycam… I plan on racing it more this year so I’ll get some vids in the next few weeks… Here are some pics… It’s a 99GT with a Vortech pushing 16-18psi, Vortech aftercooler with upgraded pump and HE, extrude honed bullit intake, morpheus powerpipe, longtubes, bassani catted x-pipe, borla exhaust, twin bore TB, upgraded MAF, aluminum radiator, steeda tri-ax shifter, aluminum driveshaft, upper and lower rear control arms, springs, subframe connectors, stock wheels widened so I can run 315’s, koni shocks and struts, and a bunch of other stuff that I can’t think of off the top of my head… lol 540ish on pump and a little under 600 on race gas… car has 19K miles as I don’t drive it much…

I don’t know what the point of an s6 would really be…its an 85,000 car as it sits, so using it as a toy is kind of a waste especially when it weighs 4100 lbs. I love the car don’t get me wrong…but doesnt seem very toy worthy.

get an08,09 r8 4.2 and have someone strap a vortech to it and push it to 600 whp… You could do it for maybe 115% of the price of the a6 and it would be a lot more fun .

Nice Mustang, PT. Like many others, it provides much inspiration for boosting our 4.2’s. It’s almost like there’s some link between the two… I hope to see the day when we’re pushing 16psi with the Vortech in our cars.

I would also like to see the Mustang vs your B8. I think it’s the only way we’ll make your B8 look slow.

Saki, Yeah I hear you on the R8… there is one in Atlanta with only 2K miles but they want 99K and haven’t moved much… I’ve inquired… I would prefer a V10 but my wife won’t let me spend that much… I have a feeling I’ll end up with a TTRS or GTR, but haven’t decided… There is a TTRS inbound to my dealer this summer that is unclaimed, at this point…

beem, see that is why I shouldn’t post when I wake up and am hung over… lol The blower is the small S trim blower running a 3.1 pulley, but the car also has custom grind cams and worked heads… I debated upgrading to a T trim but things came up in life… Since were at it, the car also has gears, 31 spline axels, upgraded shift forks, tranny rebuild, 2 heat range colder plugs, and some weight reduction… I’ll see if I can find the flow #'s… most 2v GT’s will make mid to upper 400’s with my mods minus the cams and worked heads… I would think the 4.2 would do better vs the shitty 2V 4.6… I’m still on the shitty stock pistons on rods so I can’t push it too much… I’m also considering a new Mustang to be honest as the Boss, GT500 and regular GT are badass!

Saki, Yeah it has been dynoed many times… I know I have the pre bullit intake, cams, and heads sheets but having trouble finding the others… I’ll email my tuner to see if he can send them over… With me driving it has gone 11.2 and with my tuner it has gone 11.1 This is on drag radials with a fairly soft launch… Car traps mid 123-127 weather dependent and that is on race gas… nothing special really given today’s cars! lol

Lol what do you drive daily, if not the S4 or the GT? Your driveway will start looking like mine soon, a bunch of nice, but older cars, and a new S4. I wake up and get to choose my commuter between the s4, the NSX, or the e39 M5. The M5 is what usually gets the nod. It’s a basket case at this point but it’s a runner and it’s fun beating on it and just not caring anymore.

I am seriously trying to get my bro to bring his GT back to the track. Would be a fun race against yours. '94 with ported GT40 heads and intake, x303 cam with 1.7 rockers, long-tube MAC headers, H-pipe, big MAF and TB, and an SS borla. 275s on cobra rims all around, and a track bar at the back. It’s done 11.2 @122 on drags, and lol, it has about 20K miles on it too.
[i](edit screwed that up. plus Paxton SN93 at 8 psig, MSD ignition, Griffin rad, Hurst shifter, 3.73s at the back, and the cam is a B303, not the X which would have smacked the pistons. Stock tranny, stock bottom end.)
