Ron - you made APR’s Facebook newsfeed.
Awesome run! Never thought we would see 11’s on pump. Never say never i guess. So much for my 11.59 prediction for you. hopefully this weekend you will have a crack at it with race gas this time!
Good luck!
Is the difference between the 93 tune and gas and the 91 tune and gas really this big of a difference. I was looking at the quarter mile database on here and on AZ and the fastest car on 91 octane gas (stock or tuned) is 12.88 at 108. This makes me even more comfortable with my time the other night, but makes me want better gas to use the 93 tune even more.

I know how everyone hates dynos, but APR shows a ‘significant’ delta between the two tunes, even for their V1 stage 1 tune (91 v. 93).
Us people on the west coast are leaving a few ponies on the table with our shitty gas.
Congrats Ron, very impressive!
Awesome runs Ron!
Thanks guys…
I see Thomas “The Train”(sorry I have a 2 year old and anytime I hear Thomas I think of the train) from GIAC is a little upset with Arin’s post on vendorzine… Awww now that is too bad… I guess I should have ran out of gas totally before putting 93 in several times to ensure I wasn’t cheating… Actually, Thomas, I could give two fucks about the 93 times as I run race gas 99% of the time so go cry to someone else… I’m the one who should be and is pissed that I didn’t run URT given the conditions… Maybe I should post my logs so they can see how my timing was down over the URT runs, since they always seem willing to share logs… Oh wait they have never done that, heck they still try to hide the pulley diameter… Your the guys who use Tyson as a spokesman, isn’t he an employee? Oh that’s right it took quite a bit of prodding to get him to tell us what fuel he used stage I, when he went 12.0… I realize all these vendors have a big stake in making themselves look better but I don’t get anything out of it, just enjoyment of beating on my car, so if your reading this Thomas fuck you… Email me at mustanggtron@yahoo.com You can come to my house will drain the tank and put in 93 then will go to Thompson and I’ll make some passes, how is that big guy… Just make sure to hold your customers to the same standard(not directed at you in anyway Pete)… Also, Todd, this is not directed at AWE either…
pretty funny
I’m disappointed Arin didn’t link to Audirevolution when he quoted you. I will have to flame him next time he posts about the new blower kit.
Everyone should just be happy that a B8 S4 broken into the 11’s on pump! That’s fucking dope stuff right there. This was a good week! First 11’s in a manual and first 11’s on pump…
I’ve posted on here how shady those GIAC dudes are after they were accusing me of not wanting to race Tyson even though till this day he hasn’t returned one PM of mine which I’ve sent many. Than they were accusing me of spraying meth/nitrous and who knows whatever the fuck else. I blasted that Merlin dude on here and called giac a bunch of lying douchebags and they didn’t respond to my post and it got pushed towards the bottom of the forum.
Let them think what they want but you were running 11.6 11.7 in the quarter mile before they knew what a B8 S4 is.
I don’t understand why everyone (tuners, drivers, etc.) is creating a pissing match between the two companies.
Opinion 1: 95% Car / 5% Driver
Opinion 2: 95% Driver / 5% Car
The internet idiots will belong to opinion 1, as most people never even go to redline with their cars. They like to e-fight with their friends about paper gains and what OTHER people have done in their car.
Lets be above this type of shit, its boring and not fun to read.
^^^in the quarter mile with an AWD car with DSG I sure don’t think it’s Opinion 2, so I must be an internet idiot
We all are Internet idiots, I guess its to what degree that separates us from full retard.
My point is that if Primetime drove a similar equipped Stage 2 GIAC tune would he get the same results over a year of trying? Is it the driver or the car? Or a combination of both?

I quoted him in another thread and actually just saw this after responding to good ole t-bone.
where’s the god damn 1740!
Is it up and running on the RS5 yet?
p.s. let’s do the math
Drove till 5 Miles of URT left - > Filled to 3/8 full with 93
Drove till 1/8th left - > Filled to 1/2 full with 93
Drove till 1/4th left -> Hit the track.
So 5 miles left indicated likely means about 15 left in other words 3 litres on a B8 S4. That’s how much race fuel there was. Call it 110 octane.
Added till approximately 3/8 full a.k.a. 23 litres full.
So that’s 3 litres of 110 and 20 litres of 93. Average octane now = 95
Drove till 1/8 a.k.a. 7.75 litres left…and added till 1/2 full a.k.a. 31 litres full.
So that’s 7.75 litres of 95 + 23 litres of 93. Average octane now = 93.50
SO he was right…Primetime wasn’t running 93. He was running 93.50.
lol
Son of a!!! lol.
lol… you people from canadia and your litres lol
Fixed that for you
I would say it’s a function of many things… car, tune, track, conditions/DA, tire pressure, track prep, driver, etc. Some folks don’t really understand how to make changes to deal with the conditions for example… IE lower tire pressure if you are spinning… Some folks don’t know how to stage, look at the TTRS video that was posted dude nearly ran through the staging lights… Some folks don’t know how to stay straight and swerve all over the place… Sure DSG is easier, actually much easier because shifting is an art that many struggle with(not Pete) but there is no way someone with no strip experience will run times like Bear, Ryan, Spazz, etc do with these cars even though they are “point and shoot”… Look at Imola monster, I could have run the best time ever if I made a pass in his car when it was gutted and I can almost guarantee that… Just my .02
