MDUBZ Intro and B6 S4 Build Thread

Damn, I knew it’d look good but not that good. I need to get on this asap. Thanks for sharing. Also, your Relak side skirts are making me jealous. I can’t believe they were discontinued.

I had heard they started making them again but i just checked and notice their website is now gone

Yeah they made a last run of frp and carbon skirts. You had to preorder by the end of March though to get them. Maybe it was April, idk. I think they might’ve been going out of business so that’s why they had that whole dealio with the second production run.

Yeah I heard about that a week after it was too late :persevere: Looks like the website is still there though.

If they didn’t discontinue the damn side skirts they’d probably still be in business lol. Those things are in such high demand. I actually saw a used pair sell for $600 on eBay a few months ago.

I’m sure few people ordered multiple sets from this second round of production in order to sell them after the fact. Hell, they’d probably make money

Absolutely. I would have bought 10 pairs myself :grinning:

Oh man, I scored on those side skirts when they were just discontinuing them and only had FRP ones left (those are CF). I got them used for like $125 cause the passenger side one has a crack in it by the rear door. Apparently some drunk guy kicked it getting into the other guys car. You can’t tell unless you’re close, and definitely can’t tell when I’m driving.

But yeah, I’m not sure why they discontinued them, or at least sold the mold to someone to make since they are extremely sought after now.

At this point, it is possible I could make either of those days. I’d have to get hold of Keaton to see if there is space on a trailer of theirs in case my shit breaks. I pretty much have zero confidence in this POS car given it’s track record.

When they first discontinued them, I contacted them about the mold. Their response was [quote]Although we have not had to determine its value yet, we can tell you the price for the mold would be several thousand.
Im sure you understand that we can not simply sell an asset such as a mold for a one off build.

I rode in your car once. It was nice. No troubles. Other than my head hitting the roof in the backseat.

Jason was putting break-in miles on the car and picked me up at SFO. Pretty sure it was your car…black B7 Avant that liked to rub?

100 lugs now and no luck. Pwest even rolled by with some lugs to see if they’d fit and again no luck. Thanks again man. So I’m conceding and buying the stud conversion kit.

Damn thats lame. Thin hub pad and mating surface with that wheel?

May not have been mine but it probably was. Tires didn’t rub at all. Must have been something else…about to break.

You will get used to the studs very fast and wonder in regards to preferring lug bolts, “what the fuck was I thinking?”
Can’t imagine why anyone would prefer lugs over studs. Perhaps propping a wheel up on your knee while you try and rotate the wheel to line up the lug holes and then try to thread in those pieces of shit all while trying to keep it on the hub lip. That seems much easier than just putting the wheel on studs and just threading on nuts.

Apparently. It’s only the back ones though. The fronts are fine. I’ve gone through 2 sets of bolts that were too short as well. 1 set I got at Napa that were actually R14 ball seats otherwise I think those would have been long enough. Then there was a wheel store next to the Napa so I stepped in there and the guy in there just ended up giving me 10 lug nuts for free because he didn’t know what to charge me lol.

So, the real reason my wheels won’t spin. The wheel is hitting the lip of my rotor hat which is pushing the brake into the brake pad but also prevents the wheel from actually sitting flush with the rotor. I need spacers.

Good luck and have a safe trip.

Nice Truck! I have been looking for an older manual 7.3 liter Power stroke for a while.

Same and same. Have fun be safe and fast

You can sneak a peak at the allroad while there. Ha!

Forgive me for not knowing but why the trip back?

Thanks Jimmy and Justin. It’s actually just a rental truck. Not bad except for the fact that I need to add exhaust fluid every several hundred miles… So aggravating.

I will definitely check out the all road. I’m headed back to get the final stage 2 kit for my car. They want to install it because it’s a huge pain in the ass.
